Why "The Unofficial" P-64 Resource?

Why is this called "The Unofficial" P-64 Resource Message board. Do you need permission from the guys at the Radom Plant to make it "Official"? Why not just The "P-64 Resource Message Board". Unofficial makes it sound 2nd rate. When I firstcame across it I was wondering...

Mt new p64....ejecting

Wait a few more weeks. Wolff Gunsprings is developing a new recoil spring. Don't beat up the frame in the mean time with excessive use.

How to remove P64 firing pin to clean channel?

What a job getting it back in!!!! I was an armorer and I had a major headache getting it bact together. Use the spray in the hole suggested by the other person. It is much easier. Just put a drop or 2 of break free CLP in the hole, and on the safety side after the cleaner dries. The detent pin that ...

Spoke to 2 military armorers

I was not aware that was a misprint in the manual. As I stated I am far from being an expert on the pistol. If so then the recoil is probably due to the light weight of the slide and size of the pistol. It still would be a good idea to convince Wolf to step up production of a heavier spring. I am go...

Spoke to 2 military armorers

I am a former armorer from the USAF. Although I am certainly no expert, I do own a nice 1971 P-64. Having read the posts and experienced the operation of this fine pistol on the range I decided to contact 2 master armorer friends of mine who have over 20 years experience. Their opinion is that the s...

Pre 1972 P-64 NEED ADVICE?

I have a mint 1971 P-64 and I want to get another. Does anyone know if the slight changes in the 1972 and later versions are for the better or the worse? I was thinking about getting a pre-1972 so the parts that had been slightly changed would match my other gun if I ever needed spares. Is this a go...

User Request for Gunsprings (Wolf)

I have talked to the guys at Wolf and aparently due to lack of popularity of the P-64 there is no rush to create a Main Spring or Recoil Spring. We really need an engineered heavier recoil spring since most of the ammo here is 95 grain or heavier. I am concerned about the frame in my little gem. Per...

Makarov VS P-64 My Observations

I have had the pleasure of owning a 1971 P-64, a Bulgarian Mak and an IJ-70. Here are my observations: Makarov: Longer Grip and BBL P-64: Flatter and shorter, easier to conceal Makarov: Odd grip angle P-64: Points naturally Makarov: Rough machine marks, POOR craftsmanship on safety P-64: Better than...

Handguns in a Stress Situation

I drive a cab at night in a city that has some drug related violence and robberies. I carry a P-64 in a DeSantis IWB. I got a call to pick up at a closed convenience store at 2 in the morning. Two guys in "ghetto wear" came up to my drivers side window. One pulled out a handgun and stated ...

Found the Perfect Holster

I ordered the DeSantis IWB model 028 A6 (Sig P-230) . It fits like GLOVE and for me is very comfortable for all day carry. I drive a cab at night and it rides high enough not to jab me in the groin with the BBL end.

Limited Ammo Selection / Q?

Presently I have only 2 choices on my dealers shelf. Norinco 9x18 (China) hardball, or American Eagle (Federal) hardball. I read a thread where American Egale had feed problems. Given these two choices what cartridge would you reccomend and why? I am trying to get him to order some S&B.

P-64 Parts Importation

I realize there are many factors that affect the importation of actual firearms, but it should not be difficult to import misc parts like springs and repair kits. They are very common for the MAK's and I have even seen complete armorer kits for the PM. Why is thee such a shortage of parts for the P-...
