Re: Carry questions- or Resurrecting a dead horse to beat

My preference with the P-64 is a round in the chamber, safety on, IWB holster. It does take a second to disengage the safety should a threat be encountered, but it also insures that I will not experience an AD should the hammer snag on an article of clothing while carrying. I've seen more than a few...

Re: I just bought a broken P64...

A good practice on any newly acquired firearm is to completely disassemble and thoroughly clean and lube everything before going to the range. I have found this to be especially important on milsurps. Also, always take multiple firearms to insure your day is not cut short due to a malfunction. Now, ...

Re: Hearing Protection

I have a set of those too, Curly. I am surprised at how well they have held up after 40 years. I also carry a set of tethered ear plugs and a headset in my bag for shooting my Mosin.

Re: I just bought a broken P64...

My thoughts on the hard wall near the end of the trigger pull,... You have two very good options. Either disassemble the frame and polish the hammer and sear surfaces, or fire a couple of hundred times. If you elect to dry fire as many do for break in, it is a good practice to use dummy rounds/snap ...

Re: I just bought a broken P64...

The old Bianci IWB that I use for my S+W Model 10 works nicely for the P-64, too.

Re: Centerfire Trainer

Last night I took the Dremel to the breach face and freed the firing pin. It has been shortened a little so not good for a spare. All things considered, I am very happy with this purchase. Cleaned and reassembled the trainer and it looks pretty good. It is a nice feeling knowing I now have spare par...

Re: Centerfire Trainer

I did take it down enough to check the internals. I thought everything was usable until I tried to disassemble the slide. All of the parts are in very good condition except for the "alleged" modified firing pin. It does not seem to have been modified and I am unable to remove the safety. I...

Centerfire Trainer

I received one today. It is in good condition, came with a magazine that looks identical to my others and the internal parts are in very good condition. It appears they had a mistake in the pricing posted on their website when I ordered it for $59.99. It came to $80.31 delivered and the price is bac...

Re: P-64 Trigger Guard

An introduction is in order.

Welcome to the forums.

Parts for the P-64 are hard to come by but can occasionally be found on GunBroker. There is also the availability of some that are not functional that can be used as parts guns. Centerfire Systems had some recently.

I have not used it personally, but it has a reputation of being very good ammunition.

Curious to see what you think about it. Keep us posted.
