Yet Another P-64 Newbie, Range Report
Interestingly, my left hand got a little beat up from the trigger guard when I wasn't careful on hand placement. Yes, that's where my hand gets banged, too. I've never considered the P-64 to have a lot of recoil when I use bullets of less than 100 grains. I've not had difficulty with either recoil ...

burnsie, If you disassemble the pistol, be sure to not lose any of the parts on the floor; spare parts are tough to find right now. There are a couple of small parts that could get lost easy. Also, the springs can go "Flying" to never be seen again. Don't ask me how I know about that one,...

The Pepperball looked rather impressive as a less-than-lethal police weapon. My Polish is right there at zero so I couldn't understand what I was watching at first. I thought it was a paintball gun. In fact it is a real-time, hard-delivery pepper spray, shooting balls of some sort of chemical compou...

Any Fractured Safety Prevention Advice?
Yes, "dickfunk" is correct about the drop-safety feature! I know the feature exists, but I never use this feature on new manufactured pistols. If you want to dry fire the pistol, get a Snap Cap cartrigel to practice with, the pistol will last longer. Dry firing and using the drop-safety i...

Trigger Pull Problem?
I found out that I am going to have rotator cuff surgery next week. I've had the rotator cuff surgery. It is not nearly as much fun as it is cracked up to be. It took me about six months to get back to full strength and range of motion. Meanwhile, give some thought to the suggestion about 5-round s...

Who carries to Church
Unlawful to CC in Church in Ky too, some gun laws make sence! I recall reading that in some of the original colonies it was required by law to bring your gun to church. I suppose in those days pretty much everybody attended the church meeting and that was when they could assure that each man was pr...

You are quite correct. Our Polish Army posters advise us that they do their P-64 target shooting at 25 yards!I even have a suspicion that this could be a fun little range pistol with the right target load.

Did the HK recoil spring swap
Yup, Saands reported the same problem...Tell my P64 that.. he doesn't seem to know. ;DMongo. there is no reason that changing the recoil spring would affect the magazine dropping out. Now the mainspring would definately affect it as it tensions the release.

Anybody tried Hornady custom XTP 9mm Mak? @ $16 for 25 I'd wanna know before I buy! Hornady's website claims 1000 fps at muzzle, and 221 lb/ft. of energy. That's about the same as very high end .380acp. However, it tends to be very reliable, so that is what I am carrying until I can find something ...

I'm not being a dick or anything but why are you guys having such a hard time with this pistol? I have shot 100 rounds out of it (I admit only 50 at a time) and haven't gotten bit, sore, slapped, pinched or otherwise hurt. I just don't get what you guys are doing that you need gloves and such. You ...

I was flabergasted that it was blasted BIG time for two points: the ROTATING BARREL locking mechanism and the location of the safety. I can't believe that a fine pistol like the Mauser gets blasted for a locking mechanism that Beretta get praises for using! Yup, perhaps Mauser is not as big an adve...

Sight Enhancement
Capt. WE Fairbairn & Capt. EA Sykes wrote about this style of aiming in their book: Shooting to Live . It is extremely effective at ranges of up to 5 meters. Beyond that, the sights become more necessary. Even so, Jeff Cooper teaches what he calls a "flash sight picture" based on the p...

Yup, Somebody on this forum suggested shooting gloves. I tried a pair and can report that they make a big difference in comfort.Get a pair of shooting gloves or thin leather gloves.
