Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull

I've acquired another P-64 recently. It comes with the standard 25 lb trigger pull -- like dragging a concrete block with a piece of string... Before I order a hammer spring from Wolff, I thought I'd ask if anyone here has an extra hammer spring to sell (I know what it's like to get stuck with a dra...

9x18 95 grain +p ammo

Dansammo.com is selling the plus p stuff and I thought it probably would be a bit much for target shooting at the range. Thanks for the heads up! I haven't been able to find 9x18 ammo anywhere. The +P might be a bit much for more than occasional use in my P-64's, but my Maks need fed, too.... ;)

tactical light

I carry a Surefire Executive E-2. I find it fits in my back pocket right alongside of my wallet. It only throws about 60 lumens of focused light, but, even so, that is about four times as much as a big, two D-cell flashlight. http://www.surefire.com/surefire/content/e2eha_large.jpg Surefire website ...

9x18 Ammo sources

I guess it was just my imagination that my four P-64s eat it like it's going out of style, with absolutely no negative effects after several hundred rounds. Maybe my springs are extra strong! I don't think it was imagination. Rather just the realization that the P-64 is an excellent firearm. I've s...

9x18 Ammo sources

I stopped at Buckeye Outdoor World in Ohio last week. They were asking $16 for a box of 50 9x18!

That costs as much as 357 SIG (so I bought the 357 SIG instead...).

Even more off topic than usual . . .

even got to fire a few bursts from an m60. That brings back memories! I used to be an M-60 machine gun instructor at Ft. Ord, California (back when the world was fresh and hopeful...). I got to fire the qualification course as a demonstration for the trainees. I qualified as an expert on the M-60 o...

Well, I ordered one.
Yup, casting all caution to the wind...

We knew you couldn't hold out (that's why I recently got another P-64 myself...).

9mm mak stopping power vs 38 special?

Does anyone have a chrono reading on the Silver Bear 115gr JHP?
I think it runs at about 1050 fps. However, I do not know the barrel length of the test pistol.

Yes, please let me add my many thanks for this site. There is a remarkable store of information regarding this wonderful little underpriced pistol that seems to be available only here.

Q about ID'ing the P-64

The one pistol that most resembles it to me is the Walther PP. Yup, watch those old James Bond movies. His Walther PPK is about the closest thing to a P-64 that you're likely to see. These little guns were hidden behind the Iron Curtain until the early 1990's, and weren't imported into the States u...

I thought you guys might enjoy that website. While being off the P-64, here is a photo of my latest build that I finished yesterday: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d109/Abwehr/WaterCooled_03.jpg What is that? A cloth belt .30-06, Browning, 1917a1, water-cooled,...? At first I thought it was a Vi...
