I went with the Wolff Recoil Calibration Pak for the P64 - contains 1 each of 18, 20 and 22 Lb recoil springs listed above. This pack allows you to adjust the recoil function to your liking. I finally settled on a 20# recoil spring.

I bought the recoil spring set from Wolff, and finally settled on the 20# spring. The set allows you to experiment to see which spring suits you best, and it isn't that expensive.
I'll let others comment on the hammer spring question, as I haven't touched mine.

I hear you, darthnul. Now that I've started reloading I'm amazed at where my spent brass winds up. Forward, left, right, and over the shoulder. I still love my P64 regardless of that.
Be careful tuning the main spring - it does affect the SA trigger pull. Check other threads for others' experiences.

9x18 Ultra is very hard to find. I was surprised when I came across a source on the Internet last year. And no, I don't remember where. I was using AmmoSeek at the time.

Look into the Polish Iron grips. They improve handling 500%, and will help with slide bite too.
