This isn't the Mini-14 Ranch Rifle, I've already got one of those. It's one of these. https://ruger.com/products/americanRifl ... 16976.html
Unless you mean the bolt action is an update of a semi-auto?

And you really get that much more of a gain from an AK round? It's not something that works better with a larger bullet like 30-06 or .308?

7.62x39: Advantage of bolt-action over semiauto?
I'm looking at a Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. Couldn't tell you why, don't think you could talk me out of it. However, if you still feel the need to talk me down from this ledge, then maybe you can help me whittle down my expectations. See, I've never really fully understood the advantage of a b...

Re: WANTED: Wood furniture for Armscor M5
The JC Higgins stock I got is just a hair too wide in places, and I haven't found a bolt long enough to hold it in place. Can't find anyone local to do the woodworking, so I'm stuck for the time being.

Re: How do I get this unusual stockbolt off?
Actually, Numrich has three stockbolts listed. There's this one for the speedfeed stock, which I already have https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1489620B There's this one for the synthetic stock without speedfeed, which has a longer threaded area and I would assume works with the wood one too. ht...

Re: How do I get this unusual stockbolt off?
The stock I got was shipped raw, unsanded and unstained, with no additional hardware. Is the bolt and washers something I can pick up from Lowe's?

Re: How do I get this unusual stockbolt off?
It was hard to tell with that lighting, but yeah it's a socket. 13mm or 1/2 is what I'm told will work. Now all I need is someone to bum a socket set off of.

Re: How do I get this unusual stockbolt off?
It's the bolt fastening a stock to a shotgun. In an Armscor/RIA M5. The manual's exploded view shows it as a hexbolt, but it looks round. And the manual also provides no information as to what size socket I'll need to get it out. And I can't get any useful answers out of Armscor, other than "We...

How do I get this unusual stockbolt off?
At least, unusual to me. Normally the face of these things are slotted, but this looks like a roundbolt with some kind of threaded plastic washer? I have no idea how to get this thing out without taking apart three other things on the gun.

Re: WANTED: Wood furniture for Armscor M5
Did your buttstock come with a recoil pad? The stock I got from the place I ordered it from sent it to me raw (unstained, unsanded, no bolts or anything)

Got the new one, size #12 (for 1911 frames with 3 inch barrels). Perfect fit, and with the sweatshield it covers up the hammer too.

Yeah, sanding that part flat should fix it. Looks that way on the originals

Re: P83 Wanad grips by Marschal
Unfortunately, after taking it out for a test run, the top end of the right-hand panel split. I see immediately what happened. The hammer had been tapping against the tip there on every fire cycle. I had the same issue with the P64 grips he made for me before. Lucky he does replacements for no extra...
