Never say never....new 1911 (range report)
Got to shoot it late today but it was getting dark so only had time to put 50 rounds through it. Zero failures of any kind. This thing is sweet. Maybe it's because it's all steel (i.e. heavy) but there is almost no recoil. Or maybe I'm just too used to shooting the P64. Just kinda goes "pop&quo...

Never say never....new 1911 (range report)
Space, that is a nice pistol. Was that a fluke deal or was that the going price for them? Rock Island Armory 45's are $419 around here. I saw them in the Century flyer for that price. There was one guy at the show that had 3 of them. My brother and I each got one and a while we were doing the paper...

Never say never....new 1911 (range report)
After I invested in a number of 9mm firearms and read everything about +p 9mm being "ballistically similar" to .45ACP, I thought I would never want, need a 1911. Well, went to a gun show today and saw some really cheap (read inexpensive) 1911s for $330 and got one. Always heard good things...

Darn it, looks I'm to late for this one.
If you do another one please PM me and I'll send a check. Still have your address somewhere.

Maybe I should get one of these to go with the Marlin
At least I wouldn't have to get different ammo

Taurus Judge
Still there, just want to be prepared if I find one at the gun show this weekend :) Judge would be cool for a car gun and I still need something to strap to my leg when wandering in the boonies where my Cabin is. Doesn't look I can get a two-fer. I do have a Marlin 1895GS in 45-70 that will handle a...

Taurus Judge
Anyone know anything about the Taurus Judge?
It's a revolver that shoots .45 Colt and 410 shotgun rounds. Seems like it would be a great short range HD pistol.
Just wonder how good a "woods" pistol it would be loaded with 45 colt rounds. (Black Bear, Coy dogs).

This is the insturement Dr. Webber had on Voyager. We had a replica in the lab when I worked there along with a copy of the "Golden Record" and plaques that were on board. Pretty cool stuff.

Space - Cosmic Rays? ... is Voyager 2 closing in on the Termination Shock? In the 80's I worked for Dr W.R.Webber who had an insturment on the Voyager 1 probe. Just did a google search and he is still putting out papers on it. Probe was launched before I got there. We did a lot of high altitude bal...

I'm closing in on 50. Used to be a Cosmic Ray Research Physicist. More money to be had doing Software so have been doing that for the last 20 years. Did the "dot-com" thing a few years back and crash and burned with a couple small companies. I'm currently a Software Archetect at a large ma...

There seems to be a huge piece of wood sticking through the stock/trigger guard. Send it to me and I'll see if I can fix it for you.

New P-64 Caution
The two I have look new. Even after what appeared to be a good cleaning - boiling the mostly disassembled parts in water and spraying with brake cleaner (NOT the grips), there were still some little hard balls of cosmoline up in the springs. Didn't find them for a while but once they were properly c...
