Russian 9 x 18 50 $5.50

nbender, I am just a 'plinker' and not much of a ballistics expert. Like a lot of people who like to shoot, we set around and debate endlessly as to stopping power, advantages of one caliber over another with regards to size of weapon, etc. But in some of our 'unofficial' testing the 9mm pow r ball ...

Russian 9 x 18 50 $5.50

nbender, The report of my pistols are certainly loud, considering that they are subsonic. I had heard about the 9mm mak powrball ammo. I like that stuff in 9mm, but even then, I shoot it primarily in my Ruger, as I tend to think it's built a little bit better to take it. It seems to me that these P-...

good news/bad news

Folks: I have replaced the springs in my P-64's with Wolff stuff, and have added a Hogue slip on grip. Recoil of the P-64 has always been somewhat of a problem with me, but I can say that my P-64 is now actually pleasant to shoot. Recoil tamed! Now, for the bad news.... I was shooting Silver Bell an...

Russian 9 x 18 50 $5.50

nbender, excuse what may be a very igorant question; so the MFS so-called plus P is, in reality, actually "subsonic" ammo?

I saw some specs on it in sportsman's guide and realized it wasn't all that powerful. my P-64's like it pretty well. Not their favorite, but not bad either.

thanks.

AIM ammunition

Yeah, my P-64's like the Silver Bear as well. My 9mm's like the Silver Bear in that configuration, too.

I was on the Aim site last week, and didn't see any 9mm Silver Bear, so thanks a lot for the update, Redfestiva.

SZCZÊŒLIWY URODZINY bartos061

Happy birthday Mr. Bartos. And don't worry about those screwy Polish gun laws! You and good men like you can eventually change them!

Many happy returns of the day!

How many here want to buy another P-64?

Sorry Bartos. And I thought that the gun laws in the United States were screwy! I already have two P-64's and probably won't get any more for a time. However, if any of you have two or are planning on getting a collection of two P-64's, allow me to make a 'fun' suggestion. Put one in one hand, and t...

20/20 ON GUN CONTROL

Unfortunately, Carguy, I think you are 100% correct. It makes no sense to me whatsoever, yet it seems to be the same pattern over and over again--and making those mistakes continually literally costs some people their lives and ruins the lives of countless others.

It's all so absurb and tragic....

20/20 ON GUN CONTROL

I think mmafan put it very well. By the way, have you ever noticed how many of these shooting sprees occur in "no gun" zones. The Amish School tragedy--no guns. Virgina Tech, at least as far as I know, a no-gun zone. In my state, I am forbidden to carry a gun into a school. The problem wit...

One in the tube?

Himmel makes another great point. I tend to think there might be more danger in carrying without one 'ready to go', in the chamber, than the danger of having one going off accidently, when the chances are so low that woudl happen--providing the gun is in good working order and if the shooter feels c...

CZ-82 Parkerized and Duracoated almost done

TTH, it's beautiful. The bank budget is about broken at this point, but I'm beginning to feel the 'tug' of a CZ-82!

One in the tube?

Anjdrifter makes an excellent point! People get worried about an "automatic" being carried chambered, but there's really no difference between a double-action semi auto and a double-action revolver in this regard. Both are ready to go when the trigger is pulled. Accidents can happen, for s...

Been thinking about buying a P-64

I don't have the Bulgarian, but I have a Russian Mak in .380. The Russian Mak is a fine pistol--I've never had a jam or misfire. But it's not as accurate as either of my P-64's. The double action pull on my Russian Mak is only nominally better than the P-64's. I would say that with the wolff springs...

How often do you get to shoot?

Anjdrifter, an interesting idea. They are getting interested in boys, and there would be boys at some of these things. And the boys would all know that their daddy was armed. Hmmm....

How often do you get to shoot?

Maybe the P-64 Barbinski edition. I seem to recall that Barbie had a fling as a secret agent in the 1960's when Sean Connery as 007 was pretty big. I don't recall what sort of sidearm she used, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a P-64. The harsh recoil and heavy dobule-action trigger pull would have sur...
