Dumb question of the month
Thanks, all. I don't really want a .380acp, I was just wondering if it would be possible to do. Along the lines of shooting .38s out of a .357 possible to do. I missed the different diameters of the bullets somewhere, thanks for pointing that out. And thanks for the explanation on the headspacing. G...

Dumb question of the month
And maybe of the year. What do you think of using 9mm Kurz - aka .380 acp - ammunition in a 9mm Makarov pistol? Yes, I mean shooting .380 acp in my P-64. Was just wondering about it. Only dimension that I can find different is case length, the .380 being 1 millimeter shorter than the 9mm Mak. I don'...

Grip advice...
Hey, barnett3006, I am all for this project!! How about this link... http://www.plastidip.com/diy_where_to_buy.php The Plasti Dip sounds like the stuff you are talking about, and I think it could be used over a set of original grips. I might just have to go to Harbor Freight today, darn the bad luck...

Magnaporting a P-64
Well, according to the friendly voice that answered the phone when I called Mag-na-port International up there in Michigan, a blowback-operated pistol with the recoil spring around the barrel is not suitable for porting. So, onwards with other ways and means to tame the recoil.

I are the old FART* down the road. Transplanted Californian now living in the heartland and wishing I had a real mountain around here. I mainly have rimfire pistols, the P-64 is the first centerfire pistol I have ever owned. Got Sweetie, two kids, two dogs, two birds, and 2 acres. Spent 12 years in ...

Do you snap?
I was just wondering how many here use snapcaps in their P-64, and what type/brand is being used.
I did a small webcrawl tonight and only found some aluminum ones at MidwayUSA for $15 for 6. Thought that was kinda steep.
TIA

Magnaporting a P-64
If somebody has tried to have this done to their pistol, and it didn't work, I don't think I would try it on mine. Lacking any negative comments here or from Magnaport, I will go ahead with the plan. I have a Wolff 22lb recoil spring in one already, and it is much better than stock. My other pistol ...

Magnaporting a P-64
Money is money, some got more cash then brains... Even so, I think that with a Wolff 22lb recoil spring, Dennis grips in the "new" style, and an autoport job by Magnaport, would make the pistol downright comfortable to shoot. I got this for my carry pistol, so I would like to make all effo...

Magnaporting a P-64
Yeah, what he said.
According to their website, it is called 'autoporting' and funny shapes are cut into the slide and barrel near the end. I have an email out to them to see if there is any issues in porting a P-64, just waiting for a reply.

Magnaporting a P-64
Was just wondering if anyone had done this to their P-64, or even considered it before now. I am thinking hard about having it done to one of mine, just cause I can.

Wolff firing pin spring
I installed the springs in both pistols today, and took them out for a test spin. Everything worked great, really like the DA pull with the 18lb spring, and the recoil is much more managable with the 22lb spring. Thanks to all who did the hard work in figuring out the fixes here, and sharing them wi...

Wolff firing pin spring
I did a search and couldn't find a solid answer. So, to ask my dumb question....
I received the Wolff 20 and 22 lb recoil springs, and they each had a firing pin spring included. Do I really need to replace the firing pin spring when I replace the recoil spring?
Thanks in advance!

THERE IS NO $159.00 DELIVERED
I got a 20lb and 22lb recoil spring and the hammer spring pak with the 18, 19, and 20 lb springs. Put the order in online Monday, so hopefully it will arrive next week early.

THERE IS NO $159.00 DELIVERED
Hi, y'all, new guy here. I just bought two P-64s with a spare magazine for $160 each, out the door. Store had them marked at $189.95 with an extra mag, and I offered $320 otd for two, and they said yes. I cleaned them out and fired off 12 rounds in each. I like them. Will like them more when the Wol...
