telcontar56, The firing pin does NOT feed through the safety during re-assembly. You need to put the firing pin in first, and hold it forward of the safety while installing the safety. Drag marks should be easy to identify. If you look at the back of a spent casing on the primer you should see a nice circular dimple where the pin struck. There is not a cap on the hammer spring. There is a washer that sits above the hammer spring on the hammer strut, and below should be the mag release. You can see a good picture of them in step 9 starting on page 38 of the Assembly guide.
