They do not sell to the public. If you are an FFL, you could probably do a pick-up. AIM surplus does sell to the public. They are in Middletown Ohio. They do tack on a $15 NICS charge to your purchase. If you go there, don't expect a store--basically, you are in the foyer of their office, which you ...

I also don't agree with spring changes. My P64 has a perfectly usable DA pull just from the following: 1. I found that the trigger bar pushes outward against the inside of the slide--I gave that area of the inside of the slide a light polish, and always keep the outside of the trigger bar lubed, as ...

NEW P-64 Magazines - Available Now!
I have been shooting surplus handguns for about 35 years now. The short list would include nazi Radom's, Mauser 1910's, my Dad's 1925 1911, and inglis HiPowers. None have had a magazine failure, and I can say that at least a couple have been extremely well used. I have no problem with somebody tryin...

Punishing recoil?
I find it humorous that some complain about the P64's recoil. Try shooting a 357 snub with full bore loads, or a TC Contender in 44mag with the original thin barrel and saw-grip. After either of those, the P64 feels like a 22! The only time the P64 has bothered me is after a long range session, I fe...

Defensive Ammo
I don't want "shatter", I want penetration. I want a bullet that will enter through one shoulder, hole both lungs, and continue out the other shoulder. I want a bullet that will go in the front of the chest, and out the back. These are the performance attributes I want when using the 9mm m...

Defensive Ammo
Sorry, I refuse to buy wonder bullets in boxes of 20.
I am perfectly satisfied with the silver bear JHP's or even ball for my P64 for CCW use. I like to shoot alot of the ammo I will carry for self defence.

As has been posted here before, the P64 has a passive safety block, even with the manual safety off. The hammer can't reach the firing pin till the trigger is pulled. This follows the Walther pattern. Many DA pistols are designed this way, and the proper combat-ready mode is safety off.

P64 VS PA-63
Exactly--you pays yer $150, and ya's do want ya's wants. My belief is that the hammer spring weight is part of the recoil mass designed into this blowback pistol, and I don't want to alter that. I did do some light polishing on the outward side of the trigger bar where it rubs against the inside of ...

P64 VS PA-63
Everyone must make their own choices. I am one P64 owner who chose not to mess with the factory hammer spring, for example. My P64's double action has smoothed down to a still heavy but usable pull. What PshootR is refering to above is the walther style hammer block which prevents the hammer from to...

P64 VS PA-63
It is perfectly safe to carry the P64 fully loaded (including the chamber) hammer down without applying the safety. In fact, when I do carry my P64 for CCW, that is how I carry.

I ride a 1985 Kawasaki which cost me the grand amount of $800, have put about 6000 miles on it in three summers. Here in Ohio, our CCW law has a screwy provision requiring loaded firearms to be carried visably in motor vehicles, with no exception for bikes. Some bike riding CCW holders use a thigh h...

Got a P-64 Today. Pic & ?
I remember a few posts here regarding safety levers breaking, probably due to dry-firing. That, and the difficulty finding a spare firing pin (which is subjected to stress in dry firing) makes it a bad idea. I always let the hammer down with my thumb when de-cocking using the safety. The only except...
