Re: MY DECISION TO CARRY IN CONDITION 3, but...read!
I tested all my 9x18's. Empty brown bear steel case in the chamber no mag. Safety/decocker off (red showing) hammer pulled back 2/3 of the way and released. Makarov PM did not discharge. PA 63 did not discharge. P 64 discharged. VZ 82 did not discharge. P 83 discharged. Primer indents on both were ...

Re: Weekend 9x18 sale at AIM
I must live in some type of 'dreamland' with totally unrealistic expectations. What ruins the so-called 'deal' for me is $22.81 in shipping charges to my location for a lousy 500 rounds. Works out to 30.5 cents/rd. What a turn-off...they won't have my business... I may even turn back to reloading, a...

Re: Decocker Not Working
I tried watching a video of yours on Photobucket but it did not work. That's fine I found out on my own from THENAGANTMAN his video on the P-64: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09xu7rch-pE About 6:30 in the video he demonstrates the disconnector The disconnector has two positions and serves two func...

This gentleman did not make it clear what was working and what was not, but I interpreted his post as the decocker was not working yet the safety was...that needs to be clarified...is it possible the decocker might not work but safety could work? If the decocker is not working but the safety is wor...

Re: Decocker Not Working
If you mean by your statement "I cannot pull the trigger if it is engaged" that you indeed can pull the trigger with safety engaged but it is loose (disconnected) and of no effect, perhaps your disconnector is not the problem. When you say "and it comes up over the firing pin" I ...

Re: Decocker Not Working
If yours is apparently like most, the SA trigger is near a hair-trigger. A non-functioning decocker renders the firearm defective, and is more likely to result in a dangerous scenario. I would never want to drop the hammer using the trigger to decock unless the firearm were cleared first, and I, per...

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
just tried the thing with a pen in the barrel my 1975 can hit firing pin wthout trigger pulled. Any way to lighten the safety? Don't know the answer to your question but I've removed the slide and lubricated the area where the decocker/safety operates. Believe I used Rem Oil or CLP, don't remember ...

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
This is why a few people have bobbed the hammer level with the rear of the slide. No worries of hammer impact, no worries of the hammer snagging and being partially drawn back. Of course, it also means that you can't thumb-cock the hammer to SA and you can't thumb-lower the hammer either. Peace fav...

Re: Polish Radom P-64- should this be touched-up or reblued?
If I were to cold blue slide of the P-64 or the entire gun- based upon reviews etc, I'd probably get the OxPho-Blue from Brownell's. Here's some pics of the still uncompleted bluing touchup using BC Super Blue on the MKII. Ignore the long white streaks due to the camera flash. http://i187.photobucke...

Polish Radom P-64- should this be touched-up or reblued?
Hello, Circled '11" dated 1969. This handgun is apparently on the national C&R list. Seeking opinions solely based on resale value , though I have no present intention of selling it in forseeable future. Three photos follow-in the third one, one can see considerable fading of the bluing on ...

Re: Official Polish Military P-64 Field Manual rev. 1985
Can anyone tell me if there's an English translation of this P-64 Military Manual?
I thought that I saw a reference on the web, but don't know if it's a translation of the lengthy manual posted in this Sticky. I was unable to access it.

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
Did you test with primed empty cases, Hastings? In light of your testing, I think you made it clear as to your P-64 that you would be concerned if hammer spur snagged and came back shy of fully cocked with safety OFF. Do you feel the same way if your P-64 is dropped with hammer down, safety OFF? If ...

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
There are many reasons related to markets and economics, politics, cost, etc. why manufacturer's or distributors choose not to submit to get on the CA Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale. Of those who would want to be rostered, the most prominent disqualifier presently is a requirement of 'micro-s...

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg
Also, I have a separate inquiry: Suppose a person carries the firearm with safety OFF. Would it be safer, assuming the firearm is dropped to concrete, to just keep the hammer down and have all that forward spring pressure with the rebounding hammer- or to pull back just a smidgeon (in my firearm, at...
