Re: HELP NEEDED WITH P-83 DISASSEMBLY
telcontar56, The firing pin does NOT feed through the safety during re-assembly. You need to put the firing pin in first, and hold it forward of the safety while installing the safety. It's very similar to the instructions in this sticky for the PA-63: http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Re: new owner of a P64
Worst case: catastrophic failure. Best case: nothing. Just don't mess it up. Some of us have switched out our recoil springs for the Wolff aftermarket ones. Two reasons behind it: 1) More spring less recoil. 2) With heavy use springs get worn out, better to replace the spring than have a worn spring...

Re: new owner of a P64
P.S.: The recoil spring looks the same on both sides, does it matter which side you put in first? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Welcome. The recoil spring should be slightly wider on one side. The wider end goes forward. Sometimes it's hard to tell but when you put it on the barrel you'll notic...

My new Star project
1951 Star Model F all in pieces, awaiting parts. When I got it the Slide Retainer/take down button was broken. Also some jackal head had apparently lost the safety plunger and spring. As I found what looked like a dirty tooth pick where they should have been. The hammer was not locking back far enou...

Re: First Outing, Several Problems
Just to clarify, which spring is he talking about? I was wondering that too. I assume it's the Trigger Return Spring that had broke. Also the more I think about the FTF issue I'm really leaning on it being a magazine issue rather than the gun. P64inDixie, If you have extra magazines keep track of e...

Also here are two other nice sources of info that I had bookmarked.: Lublin, Poland - Shooting Association Katowicach, Poland - Police Academy Here is the English Google translation. Keep in mind it's choppy due to it being a literal translation, and Google not knowing some words/structure, etc.: Lu...

What about Dalvar? I know they've imported the F.B. Radom: Vis WZ. 35, TTC, P-83 and M.A.G. 95/98 but did they import any P-64s?

Re: First Outing, Several Problems
I noticed the hammer was back and thus I wouldn't be able to reassemble the weapon. I'm not sure what you mean by this. When you removed the slide, it inherently locks the hammer back. You are describing something it is supposed to do. You will need the hammer back to replace the slide. Refer to pa...

Re: Greetings everyone!
Drag marks should be easy to identify. If you look at the back of a spent casing on the primer you should see a nice circular dimple where the pin struck. If that dimple starts to look out of shape like the fire pins was pulled across the primer that is when you'd switch the firing pin spring. I've ...

Re: is this normal for a p64
expressdog01,
There is not a cap on the hammer spring. There is a washer that sits above the hammer spring on the hammer strut, and below should be the mag release. You can see a good picture of them in step 9 starting on page 38 of the Assembly guide.
