ammo?

You're likely not to find any deals on ammo at a gun show. I picked up a 100 rounds of Brown Bear for $10.50/box plus tax. You're best place to look is some of the ammo stores online. I bought 500 rounds from Ammunition To Go which had the cheapest prices as of a few weeks ago. Go to www.gun-deals.c...

Yugo M48 vs 24/47 Mausers

That's a nice looker! But you're right about the ammo problem. All the surplus sources are really drying up quickly. That's another reason why I sold the other M48 that I had and I've changed calibers on the one I have now. It's a shame. I had some old Turk ammo, but I shot it all up before I sold m...

Wish List Thread

No, it can be pistols too. I was just on a rifle kick yesterday when I made this. But we can do pistols too.

I'd like to add a Ruger No.1 in .257 to my list too. And also a Kimber Grand Raptor.

Wish List Thread

I'm starting a wish list thread that maybe we can all add to and if someone knows of a place to pick up a rifle that's on someone else's wish list then they can share. I'll start. Number one of my wish list is a Spanish FR-8 rifle. They're getting hard to find. Number two would be a SHTF rifle, a CE...

Yugo M48 vs 24/47 Mausers

Just surfing through some of the old threads and found this one. +1 on not buying from Mitchell's. Way overpriced and they distort some of the facts that they advertise. I've had two M48As. One of them is a project rifle and I sold the other. The A model are easier to find and are usually in better ...

Sounds like he was trolling for suckers! ;D I always enjoy making dealers look stupid. If there's ever a chance for me to call them out in front of a crowd then I jump on it. I was in the market for a Ruger No.1 and went to this gun shop that had a pretty nice looking one. The older model with the r...

I don't use a hand over hand grip when I shot pistols. I was always taught to hold the gun in your right hand and use your left to support the bottom. The left should support all of the weight so you can concentrate on trigger only with the right. That might not be the right way, it was just how I w...

I was at a gun show a few weeks back and I brought my little P-64 to fit it to a good holster. Anyway, I saw a dealer at a table that had one too and his wasn't in near the condition mine was. Price at $250! I said I'll give you $175 cash for it and the guy laughed at me oh no that's way too low. Of...

I'm sure if you did some serious digging, you could get a used one from an individual for a little better than that. But I went with JG and I've been nothing but impressed with the condition that mine was in. It was never issued and I'm about 95% certain that it had never even been fired. Depends on...

Trigger pull

That's a good question. I've got the 18 and it's still a good pull. You can at least do it with one hand though. I tried the DA pull before I changed the spring out and I think with the mag full and one loaded, the trigger was harder to pull than just dry firing. I think I got two shots off before I...

Thanks for the picture of the chart. You're probably right that I was anticipating the recoil. But I remember my very first shot with the gun and it was high and to the left too and I had no idea what the recoil would be. Maybe subconcsiously from reading all the posts about it's kick that I anticip...

Yeah you don't want to be shooting the Police Ultra. No good. See if maybe you can swap it for a box of the right caliber somewhere.

Wolff Springs Starting To Piss Me Off!

That's pretty dang good accuracy. I haven't been able to get that kind of accuracy out of mine. But mine has only had 100 rounds shot through it all together so I'm hoping that right now it's in the "break in" period and the more I shoot it, the closer the shots will be. That's what I'm ho...
