Re: Is p-64 a good target pistol

yeah ive read all about the cz 82 before and it seemed like the most superior option in every way but something still kept drawing me towards the p-64 for a range gun, the cz-82 is the king of the commie pistol family, hands down. it's not even close. the p-64 is REALLY not fun to shoot. did i get ...

Re: Is p-64 a good target pistol

The P64 is really not a fun range gun, to be honest. The recoil is far too punishing. If you want a commie pistol for target shooting, get yourself a cz-82. Not only do they have real sights, they have butter smooth triggers, and are much softer shooting than the P64. P64's are great -- for cheap re...

Re: Another way the P-64 can discharge w/o pulling the trigg

You did it wrong. But you know that. When I remove a pocket gun from my pocket, the gun stays in the holster, and both come out at the same time. That would've prevented your AD.

Re: Concealed Carry

Oh, since you already own one, have you done the spring swap? The DA trigger is awful until you swap in a new hammer spring. The 18lb hammer spring severely fixed the DA trigger of my 64's, and didn't affect functionality.

Re: Concealed Carry

As a cheap, reliable carry gun, the P64 is excellent. It'll hide under any tshirt with a basic IWB holster, and the edges are rounded enough to not print. Compared to modern pistols... you could have a Kahr, Kel-Tec, Taurus, Sig, Beretta or others with the capacity for 7rds of 9mm... but you're also...

Re: Made some videos

Great video Junius, I never took the P64 apart that far I did take the P83 apart and replaced the sear and sanded trigger bar and deburred several parts. The guy was right you make it look easy now I know its a little harder for me than that. You would make a hell of a gunsmith and if I ever take m...

Re: What were they thinking?

true, but the extremely low prices of the 9x18 pistols are basically subsidized by governments that no longer exist. i think a new production makarov made in the US would probably cost $400-$500. If they made em, I'd buy one or two also. why, when you can get like new bulgarians for $230, and like ...

Re: Concealed Carry Comparison

I had a PF9 that had issues right out of the box. FTE at least once a mag. Kel-tec replaced the extractor, and it then only FTE'd once every 4-5 mags. Sold that sucker. I note that the trigger was awful. Later bought a P11 from a friend for $50. It worked fine, but the trigger was beyond awful. It f...

Yeah, some polish dude definitely did a spring job on that gun for you. God knows what he used though.

Re: Terrible day at the range. Never even seen a jam like th

Rember LEGALLY ARMED,,,you can put the Wolf springs in backwards. They is a wrong way and a right way to install them over the barrel. Just a thought. Nose Dive Good, Fast, Cheap. Kindly pick two. it would be pretty obvious if you put the spring in backwards. the tight side should be the one to sli...

Re: What were they thinking?

I don't go by cost, but demonstrated reputation. My Makarov that I bought in 1994 was known to be super reliable and accurate. I paid $150 for it new. Still have it. I researched the P-64 a bunch before I bought it, and like the Makarov before it, it is my CCW gun. A reliable and accurate gun doesn...

Re: Concealed Carry Comparison

Interesting. Used to have a PF-9, hated it (awful trigger). My memory is that it's larger than my p-64's, and your photos show that to be marginally true. Of course, you really can't compare 7 shots of 9x18 to 8 shots of 9mm+p. PF-9 owns there. However, practical accuracy with a PF-9 for anything bu...

Re: Terrible day at the range. Never even seen a jam like th

LOL..you dont owe me anything as I learned it here on the board. I have 4 P-64's now. I swear they each have their own personalities. One just hates my reloads....the other three eat 'em up...go figure....all set up exactly the same way. so p-64's are like women? :D my pair of cz-82's are at least ...

Re: Terrible day at the range. Never even seen a jam like th

Alright Sarge, you've got me convinced. Will head to the hardware store after work tomorrow and pick up some sandpaper. If this fixes things, I owe you a beer :D Still surprised that my other P64 doesn't seem to care about the spring ends not being flat though. Just a difference in tolerances I guess.
