Re: Mosin Nagant Supply Drying Up in Russia
The hex receivers are out there, they just aren't as common. I just got one not too long ago. The prices are going up though, so I'm going to order one more soon.

Re: Need some advce on how to fix this...
I've got to polish the feed ramp, so I guess I'll try and tackle that while I'm at it. I don't mind polishing with a Dremel, I just hate the thought of grinding. I don't imagine it will take long to smooth out that small of a burr. I guess I get to touch up the bluing there too while I'm at it... ya...

Re: Need some advce on how to fix this...
Thanks Curly1! I was concerned that there may have been a safety issue.
edit- Since I'm kinda OCD, what should I do if I want to remove the burr? I sorta bugs me, even if it poses no issue with the operation of the gun.

The extractor feels like it is free. It moves up over the barrel when I lift it with my finger. Not sure if thats what you are meaning for me to try or not. It (the extractor) also doesn't look shiny or worn to me. I'll can take more pictures if needed.

Need some advce on how to fix this...
I need some advice on what to do to fix this. I've installed new springs in my P64, and while I was cleaning the gun I noticed a burr on the lip where the spent shell is extracted from the barrel. It looks like at one point the slide either got caught on that edge or the gun had jammed. The bur is s...

Re: Difficult Safety Detent Reassembly
Thanks for the welcome Ketchman. I was concerned about removing too much from the spring anyway. I'll take your advice and give it a good once over again paying particular attention to the safety barrel. I've got some 0000 steel wool I can use if necessary.

Re: Original grips
Welcome to the forum bro. There are 3 sets of originals on GB right now. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.aspx This is a little off topic, I found two sets on Gun Broker. Both are without the thumb rest (older models). My question is where in the heck is the hole for the screw to fast...

Re: P-64 "SMOOTHIE"
Yeah, I agree with you about the wood grips. The craftsmanship is amazing, but the grip seems like it swallows the gun. I'd have to see one in person myself too.
Your Smoothie certainly is thin. I'll bet lopping off the thumb rest made a huge difference measured thickness.

Re: Look out! Lurker with a gun!
It's after Christmas, but congrats on your purchase. I haven't ordered anything from J&G because of what I've read here. I personally know others who have, and they have been satisfied.
Have you shot the gun yet? What did you think?

Re: Need new magazines
Just noted what MrEasytarget said re: FFL or C&R for ordering magazines from SOG(southern ohio gun). I don't have either and they will ship non-firearm items without an FFL or C&R license. That's good to know. I would like two more magazines for my P64. You can't beat the price from SOG eit...

Re: P-64 "SMOOTHIE"
I like the look that it creates. Did you have an extra set of grips to use on the gun while you sanded away? Or did you man up and just roll the dice? How does the grip feel now?
