Monarch 94 gr fmj ammo is what i have been using. $9.99 a box of 50 at Academy Sports. Cheap and works well never had any problems with it.

My other P64 is a 1970 model. The firing pin sticks out the back twice the distance as the 1974 P64.

check the safety catch. if the safety catch is on the hammer will fall back. the safety catch should be pointing forward.
