New M44 project gun
As someone mentioned, the safety on the MN isn't all that easy to use, but I have hunted with one (took my first hog with a M-N that was made in 1895!). Instead of engaging the safety, I typically chamber a round and then open the bolt and carry it that way. If I'm going to be climbing over things, ...

Yeah .... the 10 rounders are different ... I have had mixed results with them (I tried them when shooting some IPSC matches as there is a REAL penalty there for using low cap mags when the wonder-nine boys are using 20+ rounders!). I think that a Google search on reliability of 1911 mags will show ...

Many older pistol designs have this issue ... fortunately many can be fixed with a simple buffing (get a cratex tip for your dremel) of the feed ramp. Some feed ramps weren't made as well as others, though, and need a little more modifying ... but this should be a LAST RESORT as you can't put the me...

The Wilson Combat 8-rounders are quite nice ... I find them WAY easier to load than most 7 rounders and I've never had a failure of any kind with them. I use a mix of 7's and 8's but the WC 8's proved themselves in a class I took where we shot ~800 rounds in two days. I like my P64 and many other de...

I don't share that concern ... 01FFL's might get tougher, but there are SO few 03FFLs out there and we have proved to be a VERY low maintenance, orderly, and rule following crowd that I think we pretty much fly WAAAAY below the radar.
That's just my $0.02 though and I could be WAY wrong!

I should add that having that kind of relationship with an FFL is just as hard on the bank account as having your own 03FFL ... maybe even worse!

It's nice to be in a free state - fortunately there are still many. In the unfortunate states like CA, MA, NY, IL, etc, having a 03FFL can result in LESS paperwork, not more. For those folks, BATF is actually the gun owner's best ally. Like so many things in life, it is all a matter of perspective. ...

Ouch! I bet there a a LOT of people that are unhappy they paid extra for the Polish or Russian ones just because the Romanians were NOT C&R ... THIS is a really good deal ... and J&G has them for $10 less although theirs say "good to VG"

What do they get for muzzle velocity from the 32NAA?
Seems like that conversion to 32NAA would just be a barrel swap from 380acp, but would have to be a barrel and a magazine and likely mag well work (enlargement) from a single stack 32acp (which most seem to be).

I was reading somewhere that Johnson's Paste Wax is a great corrosion inhibitor for external surfaces that you don't want to have all oily. This seems like a perfect use.

Wow ... I can't imagine that anyone would feel entitled to know any more about a member than what the member wants to share. If I have doubts about any information that is presented, I have several options and I evaluate them knowing that I didn't pay a penny for anything I read: 1. Blindly accept i...

I am running the 20# mainspring (hammer spring) and the 22# recoil spring. The 22# recoil is hit or miss on fitting without mods ... I think that I have seen 5 installed, 3 went in without any mods at all, 2 required a slight dressing of the spring. A pair of 20's is not a bad option and will fit fo...
