Re: List of preferred (and not-so-preferred) parts dealers?

Gman68w, I don't believe there was ever a magazine for the P-64 that held any more than 6 rounds. I am aware of attempts to make existing 6 rounders to hold 7 realiably but I am not sure if any had sucess. If I am wrong please post a link to where I can get some 7 round mags as that would be awesome...

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

P-64's are not drop safe as there is no firing pin block that will only let the firing pin move IF the trigger has been pulled through a full arc. But not because the have a floating firing pin. And Glock does not want lube in the firing pin channel because dopeheads tend to put way too much in the ...

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

The firing pin has to rub / move against the firing pin spring as well as inside the firing pin channel and as all are metal and moving against each other should be lubed to prevent unnecessary wear and missfires due to light strikes because the firing pin cannot move freely. The trick is to NOT put...

Re: hogue handall jr. grips constricting magwell

I have them on mine, love the swell on the sides of the grip. I have longish hands and the swell fills my hand there. I fought mine on without boiling/ hot water and have had no problems. Are you using the right size? I believe mine was for the Ruger SR9. I would think too small a size would cause y...

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

Not really. You have to take the grips off before the spirits bath so it does not hurt the grips. And if you use hot enough water you will not have to dry it. The hot water will evaporate off the hot metal long before it can cause any rust. Just like rinsing metal dishes with really hot water out of...

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

Yes it will. After letting it soak for a good while, such as overnight, inspect all the little nooks and crannies and bearing surfaces. If it looks like there is still any globs of cosmo then a brushing with a toothbrush is warranted which I would do anyway. Once that is done if you have some compre...

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

Hopefully it is just a bit of hardened up cosmoline overlooked by the previous owner or lack of lube cause if not then it may be something a bit more problematic and that is never good.

Re: pull trigger, hammer doesn't drop

you should lube the hammer pivot and put a small drop into the firing pin hole holding the muzzle up so it can run into the firing pin channel. And the kind of ammo (steel cased) is what the P-64 was designed to shoot, Com Bloc steel cased ammo. The other thing to look for is cosmoline or dirt / cru...

Re: Replacement Wolff 18 lb hammer spring - SA pull

Marty thank you very much for the info and the hard work. I believe I will have to go with the 20lb now for SA reasons. If anyone reading this has the springs used here and a digital scale and the time to reproduce this test I for one would be interested in knowing how different the numbers might be...
