Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

I am leaning toward Classic, given I've heard good things about them. But Southern Ohio Gun also seems to have a solid rep.

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Hello, They are taking it back and giving a full refund, which is nice of them. But what else were they going to do? Lose a customer who buys 1000's of dollars in ammo every year for a $250 gun they can part out? ( at least, I hoped they'd see it that way). They are out of P64s, so no exchange for m...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Well... I field stripped it and the safety is busted and the outside of the firing pin channel is banged up really bad. I emailed and will call tomorrow to see if they will replace or return. Such a bummer after such a long wait - shipping, DROS, 10 day wait, driving to FFL... UGH! AIM is usually re...

AIM Surplus decent sale on GECO Ammo

AIM Surplus has Geco 9x18 mak and a number of other calibers on sale.

makarov ammo is about 10.95 for 50. I wish I could buy more, but I got 4 boxes or so.

Not the cheapest, but decent prices for sure.

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Thank you - I'll check out the video. I think that I can create a kind of bag for reassembly, too. That would be fun. I'd feel like one of those scientists working with one of those virus/contamination things in a sci-fi-horror movie "Just let me reassemble this super-flu-vial into the right pl...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Do I have to remove those in order to remove the firing pin? Worried about that.

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

I think the ramp is what most people are talking about. That's what I've seen mentioned most here and elsewhere. I recall reading maybe polishing other portions? I don't konw.

Re: Polish Iron V05 grips, road testing

If anyone is looking for a parts gun, Century Arms has training P64s (window cut into the barrel I believe) on their site starting at $129. Not safe for firing. I am also open to throwing in for someone who can easily buy one, and then buying a few parts, I'm sure we could figure out the split in a...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Thanks folks. I much appreciate it. I want it to keep it in tip-top shape - I already got the springs and grips waiting by. I'll keep a spare spring or two just in case. I can't pick it up until next week though! Too busy to stop by the shop. Can't wait to clean, lube and take it to the range. Oh! P...

Re: WELCOME THREAD AND MEM, INFO

Hello everyone! New owner of a 1974 p64 from the good Folks at Aim Surplus. I live in California, and I'm waiting for my FFL 03, but it's going to take awhile. I've been shooting for 15 years and this is my first Surplus pistol, it accompanies my Surplus Mauser. I also have a number of modern guns. ...

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

First of all, thank you everyone for your thoughts and input really appreciate it. I'm very happy to have found this board and a helpful and active Community around this small interesting pistol. I did get to take a look at it and it was not cosmoline soaked, it looked like there might be some in th...

P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Hello! Proud new owner of a 1974 P-64 from AIM Surplus. I am planning on fully cleaning my P64 - I just am not sure how far to tear it down. I was thinking of removing the grips, slide, and magazine, and the firing pin. But aside from that - should I break it down further? I have the Iron Grips V.05...

Re: Polish Iron V05 grips, road testing

If anyone is looking for a parts gun, Century Arms has training P64s (window cut into the barrel I believe) on their site starting at $129. Not safe for firing. I certainly am. Thanks for the heads up. However, I cannot order direct from them - tells me to find a dealer. If you have an FFL03 you ca...
