Re: Bullet Lube and Sizer for Makarov

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj

In 1963 the United States trained me to be a very lethal and professional killer of human beings for them in South East Asia. I was very good at it and the proof of that is the fact that I am still here. Bullets can kill no matter what size. In fact, smaller bullets kill faster. I then spent 25 yea...

Re: Gun Blueing With Airbrush

You really need to bring in down to bare metal before Dura Coating. You can repair minor wear spots with Dura Coat if your gun is already Duracoated. All in all I think it is a good process for any gun unless you want to keep it looking origional. The color selection is very good with the Dura Coat...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj

Today loaded with JHP 6 +1, FMJ Spare mag and 22 mag Black Widow BUG. Tomorrow ya just never know. That sound like a good plan. Looks like you are ready for that first close encounter. If the action is prolonged and/or moves out, possible under cover, load up with FMJ. In case of gun failure, bite ...

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj

I found the following review that is long, but seems to have interesting information in it.

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj

I think there does need to be concern for anyone in the area. The JHP seems like the better choice most of the time. I learned the key words in court are, I feared for my life and I shot to stop them.

I see no problem doing all that with JHP in your gun. :D

Re: 9x18 jhp vs. fmj

I am not a ballistics expert of course, but it sure seems like we have a bunch of guys here overly concerned about penetration.

At this reading it was 40% FMJ to only 13% JHP.

Re: Gun Blueing With Airbrush

I Dura Coated mine with an airbrush never heard of blueing one with an air brush though. I'm not saying that you cant do it. I looked at the Dura Coating. It looks neat, lots of colors to pick. Have you had good luck with it? Will it cover up blemishes like you would expect paint to do? Will there ...

Re: Hello, and mod question

To be safe in case of being attached by someone smart, consider CC with a revolver such as a S&W 340 for main carry and use a Sig P232 or Polish P64 as a backup for more ammo.

Re: OC vs. CC How do you carry?

I think there is a lot to consider when deciding to OC or CC. The communities you are going to do it in and the event or establishment are things to think about. The community reaction to OC can affect not only how you are treated but also your family. There was a lady in Lebanon, PA that OC during ...

Re: Bullet Lube and Sizer for Makarov

I use a Lyman sizer and a sizing die a friend had made and gave to me that is slightly large, about .370, so it barely sizes but applies lube well. Lee says you can shoot bullets from their molds unsized, just lubed. I have two bullets for the Mak that I run through this sizer and they shoot beauti...

Re: new MAK

I am wondering how that compares in size to the Gamo P-23. My Gamo P-23 is a nice little trainer gun. But I wish the handle was a little thinner to make it more like a Sig P232 or the Polish P64. I have one of those soft bb guns that is just right, but I wish I had a real bb gun thin and the right s...

Re: Hello, and mod question

I like the heel release too. It is easier to defend when in close contact and hard for the other person to operate. Even the idea it is in a place most guns do not have it makes it an advantage.

Re: Sight Paint

It is probably easier said than done, but if you can’t remove that rear sight for painting it seems like it could be done in place. Maybe use painter’s tape or even some other type of thin tape all around the sight and then paint the sight.
