Polishing the feed ramp

I've only been into semi-auto pistols for about 9 months. I've learned a lot but still have lots to learn. So I need a thorough explanation. My P64 feeds Brown/Silver Bear FMJ perfectly. Silver Bear JHP doesn't feed consistently. My FEG PA-63 handles FMJ and Silver Bear JHP just fine, but won't feed...

Bersa Thunder 380 Plus?

Oh, and I do have a Bersa Thunder 380. It's not the Plus, but I like it. It took awhile to find JHP ammo that was reliable, but I now carry Remington 88gr JHP in it. It's a good shooter, sturdy, quite accurate.

Bersa Thunder 380 Plus?

Here is the link to a Bersa importer. http://www.bersafirearmsusa.com/ Bersa makes 380, 9x19, 40 s&w, and 45 semi-autos. no 9x18 cal. guns at all. I understand your thinking on caliber size. I have 38spec and 357 mag in revolvers. In auto-loaders I have 380, 9x18 Mak, and 9mm Luger pistols. In m...

Wolff Springs Starting To Piss Me Off!

Norm,

With the 20 lb recoil spring, did you have to flatten the muzzle end? That's what I'm doing to the 22 #. As I dremel more off, it seems to work a bit better. Evidently, I just haven't flattened it enough yet.

Thanks!
John

Wolff Springs Starting To Piss Me Off!

I'll be interested to know how it goes for you. I feel sure that I can eventually remove enough of the 22 lb recoil spring to make it work fine. As it is, with it being stronger and a tad longer, the slide just wasn't moving far enough for consistent functioning. That's my theory anyway. I needed to...

Wolff Springs Starting To Piss Me Off!

I put the 18 lb hammer spring and 22 lb recoil spring in. I ended up with ftf and fte problems even after grinding the poop out of the end of the recoil spring. I went back to the stock recoil spring and she now functions perfectly. The recoil isn't that bad at all. My 2 snubbies (38spl and 357 mag)...

Bianchi 100 Pro holster

zark, I got the size 9 for my FEG PA-63 and it fits the PA-63 great. It is too small for my Makarovs. The size 9 also fits my P64 perfectly. I tried it last night and it is just right!

THE SCREWS ARE TIGHTENED A LITTLE MORE

My new friends, during 2008 I bought 13 handguns and one shotgun. A couple of months ago, I began stockpiling ammo. I now have 11,000+ rounds of live ammo. For Christmas, I bought myself a reloading setup and built a bench. I'm now stockpiling reloading components. "They" won't get my fire...

I received my pistol and I'm very pleased with it. It's a 1976 model and the bluing is flawless. I changed the recoil spring to a 22 pounder and I've been dremeling the dog out of it!!! I may have to take a tad more off.... I changed the hammer spring to 18 pounds and I may move up to the 19 or 20. ...

The possible explanations y'all gave me sound reasonable enough. I had not seen any postings from civilian owners that hinted at anything other than reliable. I just wanted to know if I was missing anything.

Thanks, everyone! I should pick up my P64 tomorrow. Can't wait!

Thank you for the welcome, olympus. I hope to learn much about these pistols and I've been impressed with the camaraderie among the members here. I do have an early question: I've read that one of the reasons the P64 was replaced by the P83 was reliability. The Polish army and police wanted a new ha...

silver bear

I don't have my P64 yet, but I have fired plenty of Silver Bear and Brown Bear 9x18mm ammo with my PA-63 and Makarovs. I have had no light strikes with either "Bear." I did have light strikes firing the PA-63 with Wolf ammo. About 1 out of every 6 was a light strike. I would fire again wit...

and I have a p64 on the way from J & G Sales. Earlier this year I bought the FEG PA-63 on GunBroker. Excellent pistol. Changed the springs and grips. Since then I bought East German, Russian, and Bulgarian Makarovs from GunBroker. I absolutely love the 9x18mm caliber! I have 38 specials, 357 mag...

Ammo Question

Brown Bear FMJ is what I use the most. I think of my Silver Bear FMJ as "Sunday-go-to-meeting" ammo.

Best Source for Makarov Ammo?

The least expensive, reliable 9x18mm ammo I have found is at ammunitiontogo.com. Silver Bear FMJ and Brown Bear FMJ are $8.95 for a box of 50. I like it better than Wolf. The primers in the "Bears" doesn't seem to be quite as hard.
