Re: Serious question about CZ-82

Perhaps weakness is the wrong term. She has what is starting to be a worsening case of arthritus. Pain lessens the effectiveness of her grip.

Re: Serious question about CZ-82

I have two .38's for her, a Rossi with a 3" barrel, S&W 642, plus a 870 youth model 20 ga. express. I was looking for something with a higher capacity. She also has a very protective inside dog/early warning system. There is at least one gun hidden in every room. I'd like to wean her of the...

Serious question about CZ-82

My question is this, those of you that have CZ-82's does your wife or girl friends have a problem shooting and handling the pistol?? Is the grip too wide,or recoil too much for them?? I'm thinking of buying two 82's one for myself, the other for the wife's nightside stand. Even though I'm good to go...

Re: Dream come true...

JT We used to use crushed walnut shells to clean jet engines up until about 1972 when a sailor came up with the idea of the rustlic cart (pumped soap into the aircraft turbine, while spinning it with a huffer, no ignition). Walnuts shells worked just fine, but took too much time. Just a little aircr...

Re: Dream come true...

JT, with out having read the manual it might be for liability purposes. You know some military tech manuals are, they so redundant, that even if you're half way paying attention you can't or shouldn't be able to screw something up. I also learned something else, no matter how hard you try, nothing i...

Re: Dream come true...

Thank you JT. I'll still read 'Reloading for Dummies' though. I'll have to work it over in my mind a bit before I leep into the unknown. Thanks again

Re: Argentine FM 90 Hi-Power

I had to polish the ramp on my FEG, after that no problems with JHP's. Will eat just about anything. I just have a 'HandAll on the stock grips. It's the most natural pointing pistol I have, just somehow feels right in your hand. I'd never exprienced that before, it was kind of shock/pleasent surprize.

Re: Dream come true...

JT how are you cleaning the brass?? Like you I'm going to be working with a friends Lee handloader. The things have been around about forever. What I'd be trying to load would be the 30-30, 9mm, 9mm MAK, 7.62x39. Guess I'd start with 9x19. Any tips??

Re: Dilemma for 2010

Today, I went to a pawn shop that was going out of business, thinking I might pick up a good deal or two. Boy was I surprized!! These guys just marked their prices UP, $350.00 for a CZ-52 ("but it has a holster he said"), $800.00 for a ratty a_ _ed AK-47 (with two mags). "Just because...

Something that also also free's up parts is real oil of Wintergreen, I used to use it in the Navy. Great for frozen nuts, bolts, hardware. Sometimes a little jeweler's rouge will also smooth things out too.

Re: What is your favorite 38 sp. short barrel load?

I use standard JHP's (Silver tips) in both my .38's. One is S&W 642 I got for my wife, she doesn't like it. She prefers my 3" Rossi. She does fine with revolvers, doesn't complain about silver tips. Since you reload you'll have quite a few more options. Since I cruise shops for ammo, kind'a ...

Being LH handed I tend to dislike like thumbrests because they're made in most cases for a right hand world. Finger grooves ok', no thumb rests.

Re: 5.45x39 cartridge?

I'm having a hard time with the issue of Century building these rifles. They've gotten some bad pr concerning quality issues. Any thoughts guys?? Maybe a Tantal would be better, or an Arsenal model, but price whew!! Guess you get what you pay for though. Any bad luck with Century period??

Re: Marschal Grips

All I had was one little edge where the inside right grip where it fits the mag well. A little sliver with a razor blade, perfect. Let me add the mag/grip frame was not square on the inner edge, it had a raised burr about a half inch long, done in the manufacturing process. Wasn't Dennis's fault.
