Has anyone heard an actual expected timeframe for the arrival of Wolff's "real" P64 recoil spring? I sent an e-mail at the beginning of the week, but haven't gotten a response from them yet.

9mm mak stopping power vs 38 special?
I've clocked 95gr XTP loads out of my more heavily sprung p64 averaging 1204 fps :o :o That was with new brass and it was NOT reloadable (think Glock smiley) ... I've backed off some from that 305ft-lb load (it seemed fine in the Mak, but too hot for the P64), but it seems like 250 ft-lb loadings ar...

PA-63's are being sold now - Opinions?
I got one when the Maks were out of stock adn I thought that there was a chance that I'd miss the whole 9x18 boat. I have had a hard time with some JHP's and it does sting, but mine is reliable with all FMJs and is a reasonable piece. I should, however, add that it hasn't been fired once since I got...

I think that they look great ... what do these run? It's amazing how we went from ZERO options to all these cool grips!

I think a nylon buffer would be great!
Where, by the way, were you thinking of putting it THAT seems to be the challenge

H & K Recoil Spring
Having done this one ... I'd heed jbaily's warning about stress concentrations ... I think that he's right. I would, however, ignore his comments about cutting a coil at a time and removing one more. Here's why: If you remove 1 full coil at a time, you will almost assuredly (well, you have about a 7...

FYI ... the P64 spring is JUST short enough as issued to allow for reassembly of the pistol. This is an important constraint in the design of a replacement. I agree that the Mak spring could be cut down to allow it to be used as a substitute (and it would fit a WHOLE lot better!), but since it has t...

Replacing the mainspring for lighter DA pull
Garrybuck: Great find on the tooling hole ... most difficult assemblies have some such feature, but I didn't even look for it when I was trying all of these ::) I guess I just assumed that the tooling was at the factory, not built into the design. Maybe I'll have to buy another one just to have an e...

Yahooooo!!!!!! a grip maker! Welcome! I think that with this one, THIN RULES! ... that being said, these might be a really good application for Dymondwood as some of the areas of the P64's grips are really thin. I'd be happy with both sides the same and like the right side of all the ones that I've ...

Sear Spring?
Did you take any pictures? That is a place I have not yet visited, but I'd like to swap in a stiffer spring there to add a little resistance to the SA triger pull ...
Would you mind describing the disassembly procedure that you followed?
Thanks,

Bartos061: That would be REALLY great! Please keep us informed.
Whoever did the left side grip could NEVER have qualified as a military vendor ... mine broke when I looked at it funny one day.

P-64 Misconceptions
One of my thumbrest grips fell apart in my hand when I was cleaning it (almost NO force applied at the time). I DID just clean it off with brake cleaner, and I was concerned that the chemicals may have gotten into a hairline crack and caused the failure. Mine failed just below the thumbrest on the l...

They say that some barrels are "faster" than others ... I've always seemed to have the slower ones. Strangely enough, my p64 must be the exception as it gives almost exactly the same numbers as my PM ... The PM, however WILL allow for 0.3 gr more powder without showing any case bulge. I th...

Anyone tried the recoil spring fix?
I wouldn't trust the integrity of a joint like that. What we really need is a spring made for the p64. I think that the rubbing of the P7 is caused by its large major diameter, not the modification to the spring. I looked for a better spring for a long time (not just from the population of existing ...
