99% of the time the reason these guns don't work
Remember even with soaking these guns there maybe some nooks and crannies that need special attention. On mine the trigger guard hinge pin would walk.I had to take it apart and clen it all out(hole, spring ,plunger) then alittle lube and everything was fine.

P64 Vs. PPK
It's amazing how one little spring can change the the personality of a firearm. From mr.Hyde to dr Jekyl.I too saw that article a few years back and that along with handling one at a gun show made me not want to buy.But somehow the shape and feel in my hand kept me interested. Finally I said somebody ...

Thanks Norm but could you flesh out that reply a liitle more? I can't figure out the dynamics that forces that heel release back.I know the spring is used but it does not seem that weak.

Newb recoil spring question
Also remember it goes forward with much more gusto as well. You have to keep an eye on frame damage from the forward motion of the slide. You have to find the right combo. Some arbitrarily just throw springs in their firearms without thinking it of the consquences.

mag drop
My mag has been good with the 18lb spring but I was curious about the mechanics of why some would drop? The mag is secure in the well it can't put pressure on the catch.I tried to push the mag against the catch with pressure on the finger rest to no avail.Any education appreciated.

P-64, For the Ladies? I don't think so!
My only concern with a 22 for personal defense is that the round itself is not dependable even with premium stuff.Duds, weak loads etc.I don't think manufacturers quaity control them as they do for what is considered actual defensive rounds. In their eyes the 22 is for plinking or varmint type hunting.

BY the way you ever think about ceo's of companies. They are worth more fired than working. What stops them from deliberately ruining a company to get let go.THen they collect all those millions from their parachute clause in their contract. The incentives are all backwards compare to the working man.

changed hammer spring.
It's funny how each pistol has it's own personality.I used the 18lb hammer and no lite strikes or mag drops in 150 rounds.Shot some Barnaul,Fiochhi and Silver bear.

When you think about it's self defeating for the ani gunners.Instead of less guns their antics create more guns.Did anybody check Obamas portfolio? Maybe he has stock in Smith&Wesson.

Dusty,I like what you said about solidarity and strength. The guys at the top, politicians, the money people their aim has always been to keep people divided. Most of them are businessmen and you know their thinking towards the working class guy. That's why they do not like unions. It's harder to deal wit...

Also remember no state is immune to gun confiscation.Look at Louisana during hurricane Katrina. That is the first incident I ever heard of where firarms were physically taken from citizens.Up to that point it was just a bureaucratic bs wanting to make you register or more complicated licensing etc.Th...

We need to convince our congressmen and senators.Supprt the NRA they are our lobbyist.Individually we can not do as much but in numbers thru an organization we have a better chance.I know the NRA is a nuisance sometime with all their solicitations but you don't have give all the time.I contribute wh...
