Not sure what to make of this extraction problem

weetabix

It might help out alot if you took a chamber casting, it would then be alot easier to see the problem.

Saiga 12!

Awesome shotgun Trent, I think one of those will be my next purchase. It'll go great with my 2 Saiga rifles (7.62x39 and 308 win) that I am currently in the middle of converting back to AK configuration.

There is lots of good stuff here http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?

SKS lube questions

Check the bolt face for small cracks radiating from the firing pin hole, the firing pin is wedge shaped and can work its way through the bolt face if the gun is dry fired allot. When checking the bolt face for cracks also check to see that the firing pin is not stuck/protruding from the hole, again,...

Handgun/Rifle Storage

For my normal storage I wipe my guns down with RIG. My safe contains several large desiccant packs and a 7 watt florescent light that I keep on all the time to keep it warm and dry in the safe. For long term storage the best thing ever is to use a Food Saver vacuum packer. The rolls of bag you buy f...

Norinco SKS

A magnet wont tell you if it has a steel core or not, the jacket is steel also (brass washed).

Only way I know of to tell if it has a steel core or not is to pull a bullet and cut/grind it open.

Good find Papabear, I have a bunch of that stuff in my SHTF stock pile, its good ammo.

P64 spring choice

Welcome to the club!

I run the 22# recoil and 20# hammer spring in mine aswell. I have not tried nor do I plan on trying different springs, I just like this combo to much to try anything else.

Reloading Products!

Reloading supplies are going about as fast as high cap mags and "assault" weapons are going >:( MidwayUSA has damn near every reloading tool/component, in popular caliber, on backorder! I have been reloading for awhile now, but I have only recently start casting my own bullets. I have mold...

10 round mags hard to install in Tantal

Manic, I have a 10 round plastic mag that is supposed to be for a .223 chambered AK74 that I use for shooting my Romanian 5.45mm AK74 from the bench. In order to make it work I had to file the front locking grove deeper (not wider) and I had to file the top back corner of the mag (the corner above t...

I don't think your gun cares how cold it is! ;D ;) Get out there and pop off a mags worth, if only at a tree stump. I hate to see a good gun go unfired. 8-)

Firearms and political trends

I was a kid when Clinton came to power, so what I say here is not first hand experience but rather me learning on my own trying to understand what happened and how it took place. From what I understand about his campaign races he indicated several times that he favored an "assault weapon" ...

The NRA vs. Obama by A.W. R. Hawkins

The NRA vs. Obama by A.W.R. Hawkins 10/28/2008 With the 2008 presidential election upon us, the National Rifle Association is making their case against Barack Obama. They unflinchingly describe him as “the most anti-gun presidential candidate in American history” and have dedicated large sums of mon...

D/A issue

Welcome to the board! I suspect your disconnector is gummed up or has a bur on it that isn't allowing it to sit at its proper "ready to go" height leaving your trigger partially disconnected from the sear. This would cause the transfer bar to jump off the sear in D/A mode but there would s...
