Ammo Comparisons
I would really like to try the Hungarian MFS +p. A good friend of mine is a Major in their military. But cannot seem to find their ammo around here in FL. I would be very surprised if you did find any in a store. I have some MFS that I bought online, but I don't know from whom. One of the first pla...

First Round Problem
One of my P-64s usually needs two pulls of the trigger on the first round of every magazine (authentic P-64 mags). The next five rounds fire normally, but pop in the next mag and the next mag and that first round usually has a problem. Barnaul & Silver Bear ammo. Anyone else ever notice this? I...

No P64!
I'm with you guys. Whenever I shoot more than a few rounds I wind up with a blister on my middle finger where it sits just under the trigger guard. I like my P-64s. They're well made and quite accurate for short barrel pistols. But I view them more as curios than frequent shooters. I used to get a ...

Which 9X18 ammo??
I have fired a little of most of the major brands and, other than some being dirtier than others, I have had no problems. Stick with 95 grain stuff.

Tested Out My New Spare Mag...
Here's more on those new KS mags. I don't ever remember having to break in magazines before, but these come with directions about putting 2 rounds in, firing them, putting 3 in, firing them, putting 4 in, firing them, putting in 5 and firing them. Any problems and you are supposed to repeat some ste...

Tested Out My New Spare Mag...
The new magazines work okay for me, too. I need to eat some crow. Unlike a couple weeks ago when I used two of these aftermarket magazines for the first time, today they were a problem. They seemed thicker and more difficult to insert into the P-64 and I had several failures to feed. I had used one...

Loading with the safety on
Darrell: You were told correctly. Do not load the weapon with safety on. You can damage the firing pin and/or the safety decocking mechanism. [ I have read the manual, but had forgotten about this. Thanks for the reminder. Generally, I never touch the safety on my P-64s. I let this standard stiff D...

Aftermarket magazine
Next week I'll be sure to bring two aftermarkets and see what happens. Never had any problem before. I took two factory mags and two brand new, never used, aftermarket mags to the range this morning. I didn't follow the break-in procedure, just loaded all four with six rounds each. Not one problem ...

Aftermarket magazine
When I grab magazines to take to the range, I never pay any attention to whether they are originals or aftermarkets. Next week I'll be sure to bring two aftermarkets and see what happens. Never had any problem before.
