Bind in slide?

Here is what I noticed yesterday.
This only occurs when the decocker is on, if the gun is in theready to shoot position the slide will go forward completely. I tried this about 20 times, 10 each way and slide works properly if safety is off (ready to fire)
Hopefully this will make some sort of sense.

Abwehr

Can you give any info on point shooting the p-64?
Techniques, details, links?

Bind in slide?

If I rack the slide and "follow it" rather than letting it slam forward it seems to stick about 4/5 of the way.
Anyone else experience this or have suggestions?

Thanks,
George

Sight Picture

I know the correct sight picture on my .45 but not on my Mak. For ex, on the .45 it is front sight centered and top of front post at bottom of target @ 25 yards, this will result in a center hit. My question is this. What is the sight picture on my Mak at this same distance? As always your help is a...

I contacted Wolf Springs and just received a reply, this is a paste of their reply to my email:

Handguns in a Stress Situation

papabear

Some of us also served and we do remember those who went before us as well as those currently serving.
Yeah, I do support our troops, writing letters and sending care packages to those without families, much better than just a magnetic ribbon on the car.

Thanks!

Handguns in a Stress Situation

himmel It will. It has happened to me in several (non firearms related) SD situations. I would say I've experienced this "heightened awareness?" at least a dozen times in my life. I do feel without knowing how or why or what but that it does take something out of you though. It might save ...

Handguns in a Stress Situation

abwehr I agree. In stressfull situations things do move in slow motion. I've actually seen some amazing things myself. One was a lug nut off a firetruck coming loose in a shop, it shot a good 30-40 feet through the air and took a chunk of concrete out of the back wall. I saw it all in slow motion as...

p-64 target load

Yeah, not a bad little gun :) It is my daily carry for "safe locations". That speaks pretty well for it's accuracy and reliability. The sights aren't great but I've been practicing COM Point Shooting, it'll get me out of most bad situations. Let me put it this way: I'm recommending one to ...

Kempin What part are you having difficulty with? The slide stop? Barrel bushing? If the slide stop: Don't try to start low on the slide and push it up. Instead, after lining up the notch, put the slide stop almost where it should be and push down while rocking up and down ever so slightly. After a f...

How do you clean your P64

Every thousand rounds or so a teardown and foaming bore cleaner. Every trip to the range, field strip, clean and lube. Every week, even if not fired, bore snake and lube. Hoppes #9 and Hoppes gun oil. First thing I did on purchasing was tear down, scrub, clean and lube very thoroughly. I'm a believe...

Safety dropping on while shooting

I have only shot Wolf in mine and so far so good. Although I do feel S&B probably has better QA than Wolf, but weapons are like people. They may look similar, but their "appetite" is different. It has always puzzled me that one pistol will shoot hollowpoints and another identical pist...

You'll find her to be refined, classy, smooth. How does Belle strike you for a name?

Did you field strip her yet? Just wondering as some people new to the 1911 have a problem getting the slide stop back in. If you have this problem I can explain it and provide a short video via email.
