What are your Favorite Shotguns?
I am not much of a shotgun person (can't hit the broadside of a barn from 25 ft., LOL), but I appreciate them very much! My Dad loved shotguns and his favorite rabbit huntin shotgun was a single shot 12 ga. he bought in 1949. It is a Sears, Ted Williams (I think) and I have never seen him put the gu...

C&R question
saands, When I have the time, I am definetly going to visit BRSS and get to know the folks. When I need a non C&R item, I have been going to Simpsonville Gun & Pawn. The owner, Mike is a really nice guy and will do transfers for $20. The $20 is for any number of rifles or pistols as long as ...

C&R question
saands, Thanks for the info on Blue Ridge Shooting Sports! I have never heard of them before. but I will give them a try! The shop that would not accept my C&R is Traders Gunshop, Taylors, SC (a part of Greenville, SC). Their prices are reasonable, but only one guy there is friendly. Another sho...

What's your favorite "Non-P64" semi-auto pistol?
I have a love for the German Luger and P.38! These two pistols are my favorite collector items. The workmanship, and handling of the Luger is second to none. The P.38 to me, is still a modern weapon and the design is getting close to 70 years old. Here is a photo of one of my Lugers. This fine pisto...

C&R question
volfandan, All the above information is good! The C&R is a great tool for collectors, but another thing you have to understand about some (few, but some) dealers is they will not accept a C&R even for a legitinate C&R weapon. Most of these dealers are your local ones. They will still req...

Problem with P-64
I think Norm has hit mark again to solve your problem. Just in case you have not read it, there is a "Stickey" with the Assembly/Disassembly for the P-64. This manual gives full details. Here is the link to the posting, and the manual is in the first post. http://p64.proboards67.com/index....

Back to Factory Hammer Spring?
The discussion on how you carry; round in chamber w/safety on, etc. got me to thinking (OK don't laugh, I do think sometime) LMAO! Anyway, I also collect P.38 pistols and after reading this thread, I took a look at ones that I have. I had always noticed that the paint in the F & S (fire/safe) ha...

CZ82 Won't Fire!
carguy,
Sorry to hear about your Firing Pin on your CZ82! The good part is you can get parts for these pistols since the CZ83 is basically the same pistol. I have ordered parts from CZ-USA and they are good folks to deal with. Shipping is reasonable so they should be able to fix you right up.

22 LR Plinker Handgun
carguy, You know, I never even thought about the S&W .22 when you asked! A good friend and co-worker of mine has one and it is a nice shooting, accurate pistol. The two I would have recommended you had "shot down" (pardon the pun) in your original posting. These two were the Walther P2...

Any of the Mosins are great rifles! They may not be the prettiest, but they are accurate and fun to shoot. You have a nice M44!

What is your favorite revolver?
I am not a big revolver fan, but I have several. I have a Colt New Service in .44-40, a Colt 1909 Military in .45 LC, and a brace of Ruger New Vaqueros I shoot in Cowboy Action Shooting. For just plain fun, the Rugers in .45 LC are FUN to shoot. Here is a photo, but does not show much of the pistol....

CZ-82?
devlinfaust, Please keep us posted on how it shoots, I love mine! The first time I fired mine (and it was like yours, looked new), I had a couple of jams from the start, but after tapping the magazine on the spine before inserting in the well, I neveer had a nother failure. You guys gave me a good l...

Walther P-38
gunneryrabbit, "devlinfaust" is 100% correct; the Germans came up with the design first! Actually, it was Walther's design from many entrants in the competition for a replacement for the vaunted Luger, or P.08 pistol. Many folks say the design is outdated, but I think it is as modern today...
