Re: Successive firing?
It's the 2nd shot that is accidental, and going from a stiff da to light sa is part of the problem. You instinctively think the 2nd trigger pull will be the same, plus your finger is a little numb from the stiff da and sharp recoil. I would suggest practicing holding the trigger fully depressed unti...

Re: Brutal Recoil
The bleeding is probably from slide bite. Make sure you grip it a little lower, it has no beavertail.

weapons used in self defense
A co-worker of mine seems to have a pretty anti gun stance. One "fact" he cited is that it seems one never hears about guns being used for legitimate self defense. Knowing that there is strong media bias against portraying guns as anything but dangerous and something only criminals desire,...

Re: firing p64 without safety lever
1) the safety is part of the fire control group- missing any part of thaflt group may make it function in a manner other than designed, ie:unsafe. 2) If somehing as obvious as the safety is missing, what else is missing that may NOT be as obvious, again potentially very unsafe. I'm not trying to be...

Re: firing p64 without safety lever
What exactly makes it unsafe to fire? Unsafe to carry I understand, but firing? The safety has nothing to do with the breach face.

Re: P-64 squib reported on TFB.com
The good news for semi-autos is that the squib probably doesn't have enough oomph to load the next round anyway, so odds are even if you pull the trigger again it won't fire (no guarantees it didn't cycle of course, but this is probably why as uncommon as squibs are, it's even rarer to hear about an...

Re: First time at the range. Slight problem and a question.
Sounds like the round didn't fully chamber...this kept the slide from going into battery. As a result, the disconnector keeps the trigger bar from engaging the sear.

Your best bet is to get some beavertailed grips, and learn to hold the grips properly.

Re: Mag drought?
Maybe a half dozen boxes total through 2 mags. I noticed the bullet impressions/dents after the first range trip. The feed lip issue started almost immediately as well. It also doesn't reliably hand-cycle with these mags (again, due to the feed lips), although admittedly it's never had an FTE or cha...

Re: Mag drought?
^ The metal in those is junk and too thin. Yes, they work for the most part, but after firing a few boxes through them you can see dents from the other bullets in the mag, where they struck the tube from the recoil of the top bullet being fired. The feed lips also deform over time, making the mags h...

Re: Anyone Ride a Motorcycle?
Had to give up the riding due to a stroke that left me with a major balance problem (vestibular neuritis). It broke my heart to sell my '98 Triumph Thunderbird Sport. I called it my gentleman's hooligan bike: Beautiful Tornado Red and rowdy exhaust. Trying not to cry right now. Not succeeding. :( M...

Re: Grips v.04 range test
If you countersink the holes, assuming there is enough material there, the original bolt should work. I will try this as well. I'll plan to give these a go next weekend.

Re: Hammer not cocking after firing
You sure it actually slamfired? It is very easy to "double-tap" due to the high recoil. The best way to avoid this is holding the trigger back until it is done recoiling, rather than the instinctive reaction of letting it reset as it recoils.
