Tunnelrat,
Pretty good. I wanted to use our Ronco Rotesseri, so I could see the gun spinnig around while I was baking it, but my wife is kind of protective of the rotesseri, so I just slipped the guns in the oven so they wouldn't be too conspicuous.

manicmechanic, Welcome to the forum. When I shot the P-64 for the first time, the recoil was so bad that I said if I couldn't defend myself against someone with the first five shots, that I would just hand the gun over to the assailant and let him put me out of my misery. HOWEVER, I got some valuabl...

My modified P-64
Alaziela, I thoroughly enjoyed your sharing with us what you had done with your P-64. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the first time someone put a skeletonized trigger on a 1911, or made customized grips for it, that there were objections by some as it was spoiling something truly great. Now, we ta...

P-64 Variations
Pappy83, No, I'm not a dealer. I do have a C & R license and have purchased some CZ-52's, Mosin-Nagants and Swiss K-31's from them. I have also purchased ammo from SOG from time to time. They send me a flyer about every month, but it is listed as confidential. Just about anyone who can buy a han...

CZAKpaker, I recall getting a suggestion several months ago, from another member, who suggested that I bake my P-64's. The idea is that this would cause all of the perservative to melt out of teh pistol. This might help with your issue with the safety, but at any rate, it needs to be done when you t...

P-64 Variations
ThreePDR, I seem to recall that SOG is selling spare mags for the P-64--I believe that I saw that in their last flyer. I would advise getting an extra one, if you can. I own two 1968's, and both came with a spare mag but with the 'main' mag, it had a serial number that matched the pistol's serial nu...

Welcome, CZapacker, I think that you got a really good price on your P-64. I bought two 1968's, and since I bought them both at the same time, the dealer (who apparently decided he didn't really want these excellent guns) sold them both to me for a shade over $300. I would say that in almost 30 year...

Kempin, It might be that my two pistols are early production--both are 1968's, and this is why they hate the Hornady stuff. I like Hornady ammo, in general. I have used a variant of Hornady with my CZ-52 and never had a problem and had great results. But Hornady, oddly enough, is the only thing I've...

Storz, Welcome to the forum. You'll find tons of useful information here. This is the best message board I've ever seen. A relatively small group, but with good folks who are more than willing to help. SOG may be one of the few that have quantity of the P-64, but others in the forum may have some id...

Radom Polish P-64
45fanatic, I think you'll find that in the long run you'll be very happy with your purchase. Most P-64's have a lousy DA pull and the recoil tends to sting the hand. That said, however, I have had misfeeds with only one kind of cartridge (Hornady JHP's), and the accuracy of this gun never fails to a...

Camo Grips
I thought that I had posted this reply about a week ago, but maybe I just dreamt it. Anyway, I did, indeed, bake the P-64. I sprayed on a degreaser instead of WD-40. Although I had cleaned this gun when I got it, I was really surprised how much stuff came out. I then "washed" it in warm wa...

Blown primer almost took out my P64 today
Space, Sorry that happened to you. It really does sound pretty scary. For years, I've bought Wolf ammo and been happy with it. In fact, Wolf might be at least somewhat responsible for the 'price war' that has brought down the costs of some handgun ammo. Recently, I bought 500 rounds of .40 and had b...

Tunnelrat, Speaking of CZ-52 ammo, have you tried any of the custom 7.62x25 ammo from Reed's Ammunition? I forget how I found their website, but they offer this stuff that they make themselves and it comes in soft nose, FMJ, etc. and it has a bit heavier bullet that makes well over 500fps in muzzle ...
