I wnet to a local gun show yesterday

What a disappointment. I only saw one P-64. It was beat to hell and the guy wanted $299 for it and I swear that the grips had a sheet metal screw. It was sharp and pointed and jabbed you in your hand when held. I only saw one box of Makarov ammo. Winchester white box $20. I was hoping to see more am...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

I have tried the sharpe and the permanent marker but when I throw them in the tumbler for the next go around it tends to come off and that has been my game plan thus far. I was just looking for a better way. I might have to give that Birchwood casey stuff a try if I can find some.

Re: New Member, New P-64--Ammo Advice

surfzombie I have know and have seen firing pins fried, and extractor blow out on the P-64's , bugged barrels because of squib loads in other guns, I don't buy a lot of loaded ammo I hand load just about everything I shoot , even my carry ammo , I trust my reloads over any factory loads NORM That i...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

surfzombie, some folks use nail polish, permanent marker, or the Birchwood-Casey brass black solution. I'd probably opt for the brass black as I could put some on a rag and rub the case heads on the rag. I have never herd of that stuff. It sound perfect for this. Where do you get it? The reason I n...

Re: Loading the 9x18mm w/ Luger brass

OK when trimming your brass how do you mark it to tell the difference from all the other brass? I have been thinking of putting 50 at a time in an empty plastic holder you get with a box of ammo and putting down a light cote of red spray paint on the head stamp. What do you guys do?

Re: New Member, New P-64--Ammo Advice

I can understand what your saying but in my experience I have never had any problems with wolf ammo. I have used it for several years in my sks, 9mm, 40 s&w, pa-63, cz-82, Russian Makarov and my P64. I also have used the Brown Bear FMJ and my own reloads 93gr LRN. I have never seen a primer punc...

Re: P-64 Firing Pin wanted

The short answer is there are none. Go the Modifications, fixes and repairs section. there is a thread all about firing pins and trying to get some made and there may be a posibility in the future of having the firing pin and replacement safety made buy aftermarket machine shop or company. http://ww...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.

So if I decide to carry with one in the chamber do you carry it with the safety on or do you just count the stiff DA pull as your safety? What if the gun is dropped in this manner will it go off assuming the safety is off. What about the Makarov or the CZ-82 or the Pa-63? Anyone know for sure which ...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.

I understand where you guy's are coming from on the empty chamber thing. If I lived in a rough area I would carry it with one in the pipe. If I open carried it I would do the same and in that case i would put the 19# hammer spring in it. When you conceal carry you in essence have an element of surpr...
