Re: Is Brown Bear 115gr HP safe to shoot in my P-64

The bullet weight by the Polish manual is listed as 6 grams. 6 grams = about 93 grains. I don't know who screwed up the math a long time back, but the small booklet by DR Morse is wrong as well as a lot of other places on the net. http://katowice.szkolapolicji.gov.pl/?page_id=3387&aid=3391&...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.

Since I started this thread way back in August. I now carry my P-64 with one in the pipe, fully loaded 6+1. I saw the error of my ways and changed but I still have not changed any springs and do Not plan on ever. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Are all P-64 parts nterchangeable reguardles of year?

I know that some of the early models have round hammers and the later one have the triangle hammer but are all the parts interchangeable? Will the safety or the firing pin of say a 68 fit and function on say a 73? Will a round hammer effectively replace a triangle hammer or vis versa?

If your asking if it is Brown Bear 9x18mm Makarov 115gr Hollow point? The answer is yes. I thought that was obvious.

Re: E.G. Makarov?

I own both . I just barely bought my Bulgy (military) and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I consider the E.G to be a Cadillac and the Bulgy to be a Buick based solely on fit and finish. Scour the classifieds daily for good deals. I bought my E.G just over a month ago for just under $300 with t...

Is Brown Bear 115gr HP safe to shoot in my P-64

I was lucky enough to score a Bulgarian Military Makarov yesterday at a really good price and it came with 8 1/2 boxes of Brown Bear 115gr HP ammo. I was too busy looking at my new Mak and just assumed that the ammo was the regular 93/94 gr fmj stuff. I had never seen this size available before. I w...

Re: I wnet to a local gun show yesterday

The only thing I go to Gun Shows for is when I am low on Beef Jerky.  plus one That would be very expensive Jerky. Go to your local Wally world or Shopko and buy an Oster or Nessco jerly gun kit and some spice packets and an cheap cooling rack like for baking and then go to you l...

Re: New member with question

Welcome to the board from Utah. many use mineral spirits. I like to use brake cleaner because it's fast and cheap but make sue that you take the grips of first. DO NOT GET BRAKE CLEAN ON YOUR GRIPS. The other chemicals you mentioned will probably work just fine but if in doubt test a small area firs...

Re: I wnet to a local gun show yesterday

makarov caliber guns are scarce at shows around here too. And isn't $9 a little high for admission? I guess if we'll pay it they'll charge it. I usually take my two sons and it gets a little expensive just to get in the door, especially if you don't find any bargains. That was with a $1 discount co...

It was the first one I have been to in seven years and now I remember why I quit going.
