Re: Rohm model 66
I made an offer on a Rohm model 66 revolver with both the .22lr and the .22 mag cylinders. Are these revolvers okay or should I run the other way? Rohm guns at one time gave German guns a bad rap. If you like to play around with cheaply made handguns, bought cheap, then go for it. Otherwise....run ...

Re: Bought my second one!
I have just one P-64, a 1973 specimen. One is all I need for daily OC/CC carry.
Now if someone were to mention SIG......well, one SIG is not enough. I have five......

Re: Wil you still carry Safty off with one in the chamber?
With my SIG DA/SA handguns, I carry one in the chamber with no safety on. Most large bore SIG's don't have a safety. DAO guns have a round in the chamber, no safety is needed.
With SAO handguns, a round in the chamber and safety is on.
As always, YMMV.

Re: What do you use to clean and lube you pistols with?
Hoppe's #9 for the bore. Denatured alcohol on cheap WM Q-tips for cleaning slide/frame rails. A very light spread of Slide Glide on all barrel/frame/slide contact surfaces. Full synthetic motor oil lightly inserted by needle syringe on internal springs ad other small moving parts. Why? 'cause it eli...

I use the TULA .380acp ammo in my Ruger LCP. No problems that I can report.

Re: Kimber Solo
In my neighborhood, Kimber Solo retails for $629+tax. That being said, Internet chatter on other forums mention FTF issues with the little Kimber, so I would wait for any factory recalls or bulletins regarding unreliable ammo feeding.

Re: Pleasantly suprised
A welcome aboard from the state of Arizona. I find my super reliable, very accurate P-64 (1973) has become my daily OC around town.

OK......so no one wanted to talk me out of buying this Ernst Thalmann East German 9x18 Makarov, Importer RUKO Products, Buffalo, N.Y. So I bought it - actually traded another handgun for it. Upon stripping it down, I noted a vast difference in internal parts quality when compared to my previously ow...

Re: Baikal Makarov..
Today I sold my Baikal Makarov with two magazines to a dealer at local gun show. Made about $50 on the deal. Some time later I saw a East German Makarov with combat sights and Buffalo N.Y. import markings in great condition for sale at $300. Right now I'm thinking of buying that E. German Makarov, s...

Re: Hammer spring poundage
My two cents: I went with the 18lb WOLFF hammer spring, WOLFF firing pin spring and stock P-64 recoil spring on my 1973 specimen. Gives me about 11lb DA trigger pull and consistent 3.5lb SA pull. No light primer strikes or issues with magazine dropping prematurely. I'm hooked on the P-64. It's becom...

Were you alone? Yes I was. I has a almost senior moment this morning 15 minutes down the road when I realized I had forgot the camera. :( There were some awesome photo ops today too. Crap! Robert IMHO, it's NOT a good idea to alone into a remote area for the purpose of shooting guns, and I tell you...

Re: Is Brown Bear 115gr HP safe to shoot in my P-64
115 gr HP ammo is in the vicinity of 9X19, so I would be wary of feeding it into a P-64. The larger Russian Makarov clones probably will take the added punch, but why possibly ruin a perfectly good P-64.

Re: P-64 Safety Switch
Your safety or hammer drop switch needed to be disassembled, cleaned and lightly greased. Elsewhere on this forum is a link describing how it's done.
