Re: My new E. German Makarov
Pearce soft rubber grip on DDR Makarov makes it an extremely comfortable shoot.

Re: Sometimes I just love "experts"/authority figures.
The guy didn't like me, didn't like "Commie Guns" especially Makarovs, didn't understand my preference for them, and probably doesn't like himself much either. But that's not my problem. Just thought I'd share this amusing lil story with y'all. With the right ammunition a Makarov can put ...

Re: E.G. Makarov?
With the recent departure of my '73 P-64 (sold at weekend gun show), my 1960 K100 (GDR) Makarov 8+1, with Pearce rubber grip, has now become my primary OC piece for daily carry in Tucson. It's not a safe queen, but a sweet shooting handgun and worth a bit less than a SIG or Glock. A Kahr P-380 hides...

Re: Spring replaced - DA pull still bad
I recall installing an 18lb Wolff hammer spring in my '73, P-64. Stock recoil spring was retained. Measured SA pull was about 3.5lbs, measured DA pull was around 11lbs....still a long way from the 24.5lbs OEM trigger action.

Re: P-64 trigger slap. <update>
I tried some trigger work on my P-64, hoping to reduce the trigger slap I'm experiencing. No luck. So, after two years of OC/CC, my 1973 P-64 goes to the gun show this weekend with F/S sign attached. :( The soft recoil felt resulting from the after market Pearce rubber grip on my recently obtained G...

P-64 trigger slap. <update>
Getting to be a problem with my 1973 P-64, while it's not even an issue with my 1960 GDR 9x18 Makarov - same calibur, same ammo.
Any ideas on how to reduce trigger slap on the P-64?

You will find the P-64 and it's 9x18 Makarov cousins are very accurate.

Re: Fobus OWB Holsters?
As a suggestion: I went with the inexpensive Uncle Mike Sidekick holster for my P-64. Uses Velcro held retention straps and two belt loops for comfortable OWB wear. Very comffy when worn cross drawn in a car seat.

Re: My first p64
Welcome Black Otter. I purchased my P-64 (1973) two years ago and after some fine tuning with Wolff springs, it has become my primary OC/CC for daily wear in Tucson. It has also traveled cross country with me on the GW. IMHO, the Polish P-64 is the "best-bang-for-the-buck" in the world of ...

Re: My new (to me) Vz. 82
Nice score. I suggest you first bench rest at 21' before moving the rear sight. Factory sights placement on the "Commie" guns seem to be right on.
BTW, is that a left hand magazine release??

Re: Chambering a round
Best fix, in my humble opinion ... don't chamber the first round unless trouble has just found you and is coming straight for you, or you're getting ready at the range. If you are not confident enough to carry the gun with a round chambered get more training... or a diff gun or both. The BG is not ...

Re: E.G. Makarov?
I own a DDR specimen Makarov (1960). Fit and finish is excellent when compared to the Bakal Makarov that I recently sold.
I find my East German makarov at 21' is the most accurate handgun in my stash of Glock, SIG, RIA and Ruger.

Re: Score!
I have an East German Makarov, dated 1960. Paid $300 at local gun show. Probably the most accurate handgun in my stash of SIG, Glock, RIA, Colt and Ruger. Outstanding parts fitting and finish on the East German Makarov, IMHO.
OEM grip was replaced with an Pearce rubber grip for shooting comfort.

Re: P-83 Problem
Picture of spring appears to be same spring used in Russian Makarov handgun. It might just be the SEAR spring.
