Re: P64 failure to feed

Maybe a dumb question, but is there a problem with the chamber? Also what year is the pistol? I wonder if you have an early gun with the late mag. Feed lips were modded in 1974?? and the early guns do not like to feed from the post 74 mags.

Re: New P-64 owner from Classic

+1 on what Curly said. They are not gonna pick through the whole crate to find the best one, just the next 5.

Re: J&G sales and Classic firearms feedback

These are used firearms, used and stored by military and police forces. Given that 1/2 +/-of the personell in both services probably did not care what their weapons looked like as long as they functioned when needed, one should be thankfull if the condition is "good", or "fair" at a minimum and it f...

Welcome aboard Red Dog, glad we have been able to give you answers to some of your questions. Highly recommend Russ's Polish Iron grips. They are the bomb.

Re: Recoil

Thank you for the backup Weasel. And one question usagi, how can the trigger bar bind on the Polish Iron grips "with zero pressure on the grip"? Please tell me how to pull the trigger without holding the gun by the grip?

Re: Safety Tempering

I would think knowledge of the metallurgy of the part would be required before a proper heat treatment could be done.

Re: Recoil

The number of people who have issues with the Polish Iron grips is very small compared to the number of people who own them.

Re: P64 Stovepipes

Changing out the hammer spring for lighter ones has made the SA trigger too light for many here. I am running the 17lb spring and I found that while it did lighten up the SA a bit I can work with it but many can't. So if you go to the 18lb do not throw the 20lb away. Try it out for a bit and see wha...

Re: P64 Stovepipes

Not a bad line of reasoning. Where did you get the Star BM recoil spring? I have 2 and love them but I am thinking the recoil springs should get replaced soon.

Re: P64 Stovepipes

Ok, I just reread all your posts about this problem. Did this gun come to you with the different power recoil springs? Because I suspect that the standard power spring, ie original oem spring, may have become too weak to funtion correctly. However, I am happy that you seem to have corrected the prob...

Re: Magazines for new owners

Depending on where you call home finding ammo may or may not be problematical. Let us know if the hammer spring swap helps.

Re: Magazines for new owners

Funny, all my.magazines slide in and out easily and I have 4 or 5. Hmmmm. Well at least you have mags now. Now to the range and see how and if they all work well.

Sorry did not mean anything by that question but we have had others here that did not know for whatever reason. At this time I am out of ideas, sorry.

Re: P64 Stovepipes

Is the recoil spring on the barrel correctly? The narrow end needs to be on the breach end of the barrel. I am thinking that if it is reversed that maybe the slide is not retracting as far as possible thereby causing the weak ejection and stovepipe issue. Maybe?
