Because the firing pin meets some resistance as it pierces the primer where as without a round the pin is traveling it's full length and hitting the inside of the slide at the end of it's travel. At least that is what I think it is doing. Most modern guns it is said can be dry fired. I use snap caps...

My question is how long does it glo in no light conditions and if it is in your holster all day and you go into a no light room does it glow at all?

It says you can charge it for 30 secs with a a flashlight.

Who has time to do that in a confrontation?

The tight end of the new spring isn't ground flat like the old, check them out.
