Fave Nightstand Gun
I rotate a couple. Sometimes it is a slicked-up Star BM, sometimes an RIA Government-style 1911. They rotate since I know the Star always works, and the 1911 sometimes ends up with new parts...have to wait to test it again to rely on it. Then it's back to the .45 :) Right now, the Star is pulling du...

Your firing pin is *probably* intertial. The non-inertial pins were mostly on older guns. Quick test: Lock your slide back. Press the back of the firing pin *flat* with the back of the side. If the FP protrudes through the breechface, it is non-inertial. If it is pretty much even or slightly retract...

NEW Toy...someone help me!!!
Wow, lovin' that Starvel. It's a kind of nickle plate, right? Here's my Little Star. It's a military issue piece, Gunkoted. The top is satin black, the bottom titanium. The gunsmith also used a rotary tool to make "dots" on the sights, and painted them white. The grips are from E-Bay (I th...

Trigger guard hinge protrusions
Hello!
I don't know if this is normal, but the hinge sides on the frame that my trigger guard attach to protrude downwards a bit right below the hinge pin. During recoil, they tend to bite into my second finger. Is it safe to machine those down a bit without making the hinge too weak?
Thanks.

The Makarov Revolver
Another 9mm Mak revolver, the Kobalt. Pretty normal-ish though, besides the weird moon clips.

Odd observance at gun show
.45 IS TEH SUX! 9MM RULZE! (Waits for Colt, Browning, Winchester, and Makarov to show up. I mean...how cool would that be? Even with all the clanking chains and "BRAINS" chanting?) Seriously...I'm a caliber tier-ist. 9x18 for hide-out guns (like my appendix-carry P64) 9mm for Compact guns ...

Glaser Blue #12 Shot Ammo
Unless you're an air marshall worried about shooting holes in a flying plane, or someone living in the thinnest-walled ghetto apartment, I don't think Glasers really offer anything. Almost all test show that they leave grisly wounds...like an explosive went off on the person. At the same time, the w...

didn't know where to put this
I think the poem's not about protestors, but about unionized striking. During WWII, the Congress of Industrial Organizations agreed to limit striking. However, some shops still ended up on strike because of working conditions. Usually pretty short, but according to Wikipedia, there were as many stri...

Did you have to drill and tap for the DC Engineering adapter? I used to see them around, but the design I saw required you to either drill the recoil lug, or attach the adapter to your stock. How did yours attach? Did you have to adjust it any before it locked well?

Neat holster Idea (pretty cheap to)
Ever carried a pistol in a cargo pocket, especially cargo shorts? There are a few things that really ball it up. 1) The pistol won't stay upright. It'll tumble, usually into just the wrong position to draw. 2) It'll whack the crap out of your knee/thigh constantly, if the pants aren't skin tight. 3)...

The pink is a safety feature...someone breaks in to your house, and sees that, they won't exactly bother stealing the "pink plastic Barbie's First Gat", thinking it a toy. Even if they do...how long would it take to call the pawn shops around looking for a bright pink Bersa? :) Think I'd t...

19 Holes and a Peep Sight
With a post peep, look through the peep at your target, and put the post just *under* where you want to hit. If you're aiming at a bullseye, think of it as "a pumpkin on a post"...the "pumpkin" being in the center of your peep reticle, the post just under the "pumpkin"....

carguy In my area in Ohio there is a local range that has a "gun club" called the "pink pistols" this is (I'm told) a mens club. Pink Pistols is kind of odd, but actually a pretty cool concept. Basically, they train gay men (though I'm not sure it's just limited to men anymore) ...

P-64 Pricing
For those in the Tulsa, OK area...there's still at least one P-64 at $175, in box with two magazines and a trigger lock at Second Hand Rose pawn company. That's $175 flat, tax included. When I bought mine a few months back, they had two more at that price, but they were only bringing one out at a ti...
