Thanks Papabear and Nbender! I think I'll lean on the side of caution and shoot it in my Bulgie Mak. I only have one box so it won't last long. I picked it up at a gun show a few months back because I really liked the box design.

Ammo ?
I like the S&B also and I have shot a fair amount of it and the Silver Bear FMJ. Can't seem to find any of the Silver Bear FMJ lately though. The Silver Bear HP shoots fine in P-64's and OK in my PA-63 with the exception of one or two FTGTBs. My MAKs and CZ-82 I have only shot FMJ. That will cha...

Ammo ?
I have been shooting up all my FMJ S&B and it works flawlessly in all my makarov guns. Unfortunately my makaro supply is getting low. I noticed that FMJ prices are higher than HP (what I could fine). So I am thinking why buy FMJ, just buy HP. As long as it feeds ok, right? PS. Reloading might be...

P-64 as a carry weapon.
Thanks Papabear!
I didn't mind giving up my 38's, but I sure do miss shooting them.
Starting to look over the Internet auctions for a nice used one.
Preferably a 357.

P-64 as a carry weapon.
I also carry primarily my P-64 but sometimes I will carry a Walther ppk/s. I just love the feel of that one. I have been carrying both with IWB and a smartcarry. I don't care to much for the smartcarry. Its ok standing up but pretty uncomfortable sitting down. My gut maybe? My wife has a Ruger 357 t...

If I could find one locally at that price I would snatch it up in a sec.

So Norm what do you consider cheap? I think before another p-64 comes home my CZ-82 needs a brother (spare).
To try to keep this thread a little on topic, Sadly I did miss the last two local gun shows. Family comes first though.

Volfandan,
Its been a month exactly. It came with an extra mag and has the flat grips which I prefer. Brought it home and its been sitting in the safe since.
Trying not to even think about getting another, but I am slowly losing the battle. Isn't two P-64 enough?

I bought one off of Gunbroker for $170 which included shipping.
The gun looks nice. I haven't even cleaned it yet, but it appears to be in VG condition.

Range - not so good day
Thanks Norm, These days happen sometimes. I'll will take the safety a part and check it out. Its funny but not unusual that my recollection of the event isn't very clear. I don't think the safety actually physically dropped. Its not hard to manipulate but not easy either. After your memory goes what...

Range - not so good day
Went to the range with my P-64, Kel-Tec 380 and Rock Island 45. Shot about 50 rounds through the P-64 and only experience one failure (first one ever). The gun failed to fire and the trigger behave like the safety was on, but it wasn't. Hammer was down. I recycled the safety and was able to fire the...

Possible faulty P-64?
Ok I'll chime in. I have two P-64's. The 74 with new hammer and recoil springs doesn't launch pencil. The 73 (all original) does launch the the pencil a little. I have never fired the 73. I did notice that with the trigger cocked the pencil launches higher in the 73. I am not a gunsmith but I assume...

PA-63 question
Opps, thanks for the reminder. 13lb recoil and 11lb hammer spring. The DA trigger is usable now. Still a little hard like my ppk/s but that's actually a good thing. I had two FTGTBs with HP (6 mags) and no FMJs (3 mags). I hadn't planned on shooting that much HPs but the second box I opened was HPs ...
