Pictures at last!

Thank you Papabear and Greyfox for sharing. :) Papa? Is that an uburti or pietta? Grey, I had a wall sorta like that in my old house. I hung my revolvers on the wall behind the bedroom door. Not only did I get to hang them but they were out of the wife's direct sight, too. The hallway had my sword c...

Pictures at last!

Nice guns. I am a big fan of the old Navy and Army open top revolvers...just wish I had one or a dozen. When you carry the 1860 Colt snubbie do you also carry your possibles bag and powder flask? (there isn't a winking emoticon anymore but there should be one here) Nope, that's why I rarely carry i...

Pictures at last!

As promised at last! :) http://lh4.google.com/steelblade/Rt39mAXehvI/AAAAAAAAAB8/MnTloCI86DU/s144/gunpost.jpg The top two are my p-64 on both sides with the rubber grip on it. My hands a very large so the rubber and finger slots make a big difference for me on that small handle. Another change you c...

no extraction

steelblade, Any mechanical device, like the safety on a pistol, should not be forced unduly with a pair of pliers if it is not working properly. To do so probably will cause damage. Maybe this topic will help you get to the bottom of your safety problem: http://p64.proboards67.com/index.cgi?board=f...

no extraction

Boiled it, didn't quite work, too many little parts buried deep inside. Broke it down, almost lost the safety spring (any way to weaken that a tad? Some days I need pliers to flip the safety on and off.) soaked the top slide and parts thereof in powder solvent overnight, then boiled again. Now it fu...

no extraction

Thanks for the help from everyone. Blinddog, the shell stays in. It either doesn't extract, or the slide doesn't fully close. Pshootr, I'll try that ASAP. Busy life. gets in the way, doncha know. :) Normsutton, Got em downloaded. Sure they will help. :) Usually I boil my guns, most of which are blac...

no extraction

I was cleaning my p-64 and tried to run a mag through it, but it kept jamming. It looks like the extractor is the problem. It either doesn't extract the previous round, or it doesn't fully close. I took a needle nose and (Very carefully so to not indent or scratch) moved the extractor back and forth...

What do you feed yours?

Hello steelblade, Pardon me but I think you have your ammo crossed? Yep, I said wolf on the other thread and I meant silver bear. Thought those were alum, but I guess I was wrong about that. I lubed up both weapons (Even rugers don't perform well dry) and was able to rack through a whole mag on eac...

What do you feed yours?

I might have missed a thread so, sorry if this has been asked before. I misspoke on the other thread from a few minutes ago. it was hollow point silver bear with the aluminum shells that I fired before. I ran 26 of the 50 and held off on teh rest for carry purposes. About one in 5 would jam, but I t...

new screws for grip

Yep, rubber slip ons. Simple enough thing, but it works quite well. I didn't try shooting it without em, but it got me a real good group with some wolf hollow points at the range. better than what my ruger gave, and i have experience with that one. I think that the solid barrel, as opposed to the fl...

One in the tube?

I pulled a bullet out of the case and tested mine the day I got it. Yes, it will feed an empty case from the mag. That impressed me. Then with the case and live primer in the chamber I tried to get it to fire. No luck, I stopped short of actual damage to the gun, but I was impressed. If jarring or ...

new screws for grip

for about 1.50 I was able to get a package of 4-40x1 machine screws to replace my missing grip screw. It was the closest I could find since they didn't carry the M3 mentioned in the other thread. I DID have to grind down about 1/16 inch to get it to not stick out, but for a buck/50 and I have 7 more...

Pager Pal Holster

Looks to be a slight variation on the 'thunderwear' type holster. I carried my ruger p-95 in a homemade version and had no trouble, but had to actually reach IN the pants to get at my ruger. The pal looks to have that beat by allowing one to yank up with one hand and draw with the other. But at $60 ...

How do you carry?

I carried a Ruger p-95 for a few years with a clip draw (Damn useful thing, that clipdraw) inside the waistband just behind my hipbone on my right. I jsut tuck in my shirt over it and it disappears even in summer. When I wore sweats (No waist band to speak of) I used a homemade take off of thundewea...
