How many here want to buy another P-64?
I bought 3 in Nov 2005. I seem to prefer to buy my milsurps 3 or more at a time. I also like the discount for multi purchases.

Now for something completely different
I have a SA Ultra Compact, Kimber Gold Match and I just bought a RIA 1911-A1. If I knew then what I do now, I would have saved my money and not bought the Kimber. It's a great pistol, just pricey. The RI is a great .45 especially for the money. Even after adding a beavertail, hammer, trigger, sear, ...

Possible #16 Hammer spring problem!
Have replaced main spring with 16# on 4 P64's with no problems. Have left the original recoil springs in. No FTE or cycling problems.

Any Handloaders?
I used the load data that came with the LEE Makarov die set. About 2.4gr red dot w/ 93 gr LRN. A little hotter for the 95gr XTP, maybe 2.9gr Red dot(don't remember).
The LRN with 2.4gr Red dot is a very nice target load. Accurate and very manageable. I've shot at least 50rds of the target load.

How much do replacement springs cost?
I left my recoil springs stock. Pistols are working fine and eject 8-10 ft.( not excessive ).
I used the 16# mainspring.

9x18 can it be reloaded using 9x19 equipment?
I have the 9x18 Lee dies and use dillons 9mm conversion kit. 9x18 bullet is larger diameter than 9mm luger.

Sight Enhancement
I shoot .22 in NRA gallery course. I found that after shooting for a few years, once I get the pistol gripped properly I can point and be very close to target. "Muscle Memory" like any sport, practice is required.

Range with new P64
I cleaned mine and changed the mainsprings before I shot them. Dry firing with the stock mainspring was very painful after a dozen pulls of the trigger.
Spring change makes a huge difference. Recoil is not a problem for me.

Thats a little off the wall. pss849, you are a minister? ??? How about SEARCHING your surroundings for possible trouble/danger, EVALUATE the situations then form a plan, and then be ready to EXECUTE the plan to avoid the trouble/danger should it be needed. Much more positive outlook and will serve t...

Most of these pistols being sold by SOG seem New or Like New. The 4 I got all looked New.
I am very happy with the Wolf 16# mainspring. I really like this pistol, so much so I don't think I will bother getting a Makarov now.

Another Spring Question to Ponder
I don't think these eject an excessive distance. I've heard the CZ-52 throws them into the next zip. Both my Kimber Classic Gold Match and my new RIA 1911-A1 both throw brass as far as my P-64s. This is with my lower power reloads in both calibers. 10' is not that far. A properly functioning Fal sho...

I found the popping magazine situation!
My hands are to large to fit the grips so I keep my pinky under the mag. This is a very comfortable grip for me and I have good control when I fire one handed. Never had a mag drop free unless I released it.
