P64 or SMC 918?

There are two fundamental differences between SMC 918 and P-64 - one is in favor of FEG and one in favor of P-64. FEG is lighter - it has an aluminum frame so it is easier if you fancy a pocket carry. P 64 has a nicely profile back of the slide. Please note that the bottom rail edges of the slide at...

BEWARE OF FRAUD P-83 (and others?)

To answer swd post - the P 83 has not been manufactured since the late 1990s. Although it is still in the police and some military warehouses, it is slowly being replaced by Walther P99 made at the Radom plant (for the police), Glock (also for the police) and WIST made in Lodz (for the military). Th...

any nw info on the p83's

Just a matter of time. The Polish exporter is probably holding the price too high, otherwise they would already be here. Besides, the US dollar is weak so these guns are too expensive comparing with other milsup guns.

...and by the way, any modifiactions that would make this a fully automatic pistol could land you in jail.

DAO conversion?

3rdpig That "something" that stops the hammer from falling on the firing pin before the trigger is released is disconnector - a part that you so quickly discounted in one of your posts above. Disconnector in this pistol works with the trigger bar removing it from the hammer, with safety(it...

Gunneyrabbit: I think you misspoke when suggesting that Kahr has a second strike capability - it does not. If yours does, then you must have done something to it.

...and on the subject of CZAK, there is an internet police forum in Poland that, like many such message boards has many topics, among them was: how long have you had your CZAK (P 64) and do you like it. Apparently in spite of the new wave of Glock 19s and Walther P99 (made in Poland), P 64 still get...

That is an excellent idea and, on its face, the filing of the sear notch on the hammer should do the trick. You just need to make sure that the disconnector is always working - otherwise - you will turn it into a machine pistol, and that would be a very bad idea. I always felt that the guns like Glo...

buying destroyed frame

Shipping a frame from the US will be a risky proposition. As long as it has a number it is legally considered a firearm - period. Does not have to have a barrel. I think that Dennis would be better served by simply driving to Poland, where these are available, particularly damaged. Get in touch with...

But They Have Gun Control There!

Now that is really funny - not the knifings but the things they can do to stop them? If they take away knives from ordinary folks - they could mandate that only food eaten with chopsticks or with bare hands can be consummed in GB. On the second thought, chopsticks are also dangerous so just use your...

New Supply of P64 and P83

Political climate in Poland has nothing to do whatsoever with selling their surplus guns to the highest bidder. You must know that the companies that deal in arms in Poland are owned, at least at 51% level by the government of Poland. That means that pnce the new pistols (Glocks and Walthers P99) ar...

Radom never made that many VIS pistols in 1992. They started with five and I do not think that they made more than that. I was at the factory in 1994 trying to get some re-furbished P64s for a client and the Chief Engineer told me that they made only five and were waiting for orders. The price at th...

p-83 question and old revolver talk

Many, if not all import decisions are made on a pure business analysis basis. What profit will this bring. About 14 years ago I tried to negotiate for a client an importation of P 64 to the US and I went directly to the Polish exporter as well as to the manufacturer. At that time no one else thought...

New Supply of P64 and P83

Apparently the Polish police will get 22000 new Walther P 99 pistols by the end of 2008 to replace the aging P 64 and P 83. That means that by the spring 2009 someone will likely get their hands on a substantial number of these and import them to the US. Good news for those who are waiting - not so ...
