Parts Breakage

I think the fact that the factory mainspring is so strong also contributes to the breakage, in addition to the other issues.

Almost lost a Part

Found some. Started at my local HD, they only had them as small as 4mm but directed me to the local True Value. Went there and....yeah! They had them right there, M3 w/ .50 pitch. Took them home and blued them by heating w/ a mapp torch until red hot then quenching them in household oil, took about ...

OT - Stoeger Cougar 8000

The Stoeger is built on Beretta Cougar mfg. equipment that was shipped to Turkey. The gun rags rated it highly but then again there's reasons why we call them gun rags. I'm always a little leery of Turkish gun quality myself but maybe they're getting better or Beretta might be keeping them on a shor...

Almost lost a Part

Well I'm now in the club. I lost mine at the range over the weekend. Didn't discover it missing until later. I saw the hex nut fix and will be doing that I guess. The good news is my unissued P-64 cranked out 200 rounds of Silver Bear hollow-point without a single malfunction. I've been scouring the...

Stupid question

Ok, it is like this. Say a dealer has an opportunity to buy a gun with a max value of $300. In order for the dealer to be able to sell it for $300 and make a modest $25 profit he would have to pick it up for around $249. And sell it for $281. Remember the max price anyone would pay is $300. With a ...

Stupid question

My philosophy on buying stuff on the web is simple, just like buying stuff at a gunshow. A business deal is a matter of trust, and if someone tries to screw you even in a small way, its time to walk, because they'll do it big if they get a chance. It amazes sometimes to see the abuse some buyers wil...

Off Topic ( SKS)

For you SKS guys, my FFL guy has two versions of the Norinco, new in box, for $225 out the door. Difference is the flat or spike bayonnet. Don't know if there is a milled or stamped difference. He has the Yugo 59/66 much cheaper, but don't care for the extra hardware. Thoughts please? Stan Really a...

Off Topic ( SKS)

I am thinking about getting a Yugo 59/66, possibly from AIM Surplus. Anybody have feedback from experience or any suggestions? AIM is good to deal with, so are Classic Arms and J&G Sales IMHO. Out of the three I would use Classic, they're a bit smaller and I like the personalized service. I've ...

Norm, SKS's are an awesome rifle. That top one in your picture has got to be the nicest condition Yugo Model 59 I have ever seen. My experience is that the 59's are generally a lot harder to find in good shape than the ubiquitous 59/66's. I love my SKS's, all 6 of them! 2 Tulas, 2 Yugos, one clean a...

Punishing recoil?

since every other topic on this forum eventually gets off topic, I thought I'd ask: how's silver bear ammo, it's relatively cheap, but is it laquer nasty like wolf? Hi guys, new member here. Longtime collector of Sov long arms but just ordered my first 9x18 pistol, a P-64, on Friday. Can't wait to ...
