Pistol updates?
So if I wanted to replace those parts, it is a drop in conversion, or do I need a new hammer?

Pistol updates?
Was that updated on the second edition round hammers, or only on the ones with the triangular hammer? Thanks.

So no changes were made in design except the shape of the hammer? The information I got was incorrect?

Pistol updates?
Afaik, there are three generations of the pistol. The first two have a round hammer, the third with a triangular. I seem to have read something on here about internal parts being updated, but I don't remember what it was. So here's my question. I have a 1972, round hammer, etc. Are there any parts t...

Punishing recoil?
Well, got her off to the range, only had 50 rounds with me, but LMAO. No jump, no kick, but a lot of sting. After just a few magazines the web of my hand was bright red, and my index finger was a little beaten. It's a shame I didn't have more ammo with me, but she shot straight near as I could tell....

Punishing recoil?
I should be able to take her out for a spin this weekend, any particular precautions, or just make sure my hand doesn't have skin flying off from slide bite?

Ok, not punishing recoil, but is it controllable for rapid follow up shots?

Punishing recoil?
Well, I got a nice 1972 P-64 with a round hammer today. Little wear on the muzzle, presumably holster. Otherwise great condition, clean bore, action, etc. DA is not as bad as I remembered, but still pretty rough, it's like it gives easily up to a point, and then it's like pushing a brick wall. SA ve...

Punishing recoil?
I was talking function check, is there any one thing to look for mechanically? I've already ordered a set of zee grips, so the thumb rest is irrelevant at this point. Is it pretty much just find which one I like and go for it?

One more thing before I pick it up (presumably tomorrow), what should I look for? He's going to give me a choice of the 3 or 4 I ordered, what kind of inspection should I do?

well, I was telling my local dealer (who ordered 3 or 4 of these pistols, one being mine) about the hammer spring trick. He actually ordered a 3 pack fo 17# springs, so I was going to get one off him. If I find the SA too light, I can spend another $4 and get heavier weight ones. That being said, my...

So is a 17# mainspring and stock recoil spring ok? I will not be firing anything other than ball ammo of the 95ish grain assortment.

What do you mean when you say rubs? Is it tighter against the barrel than the original, and kind of scrapes, or what?

since every other topic on this forum eventually gets off topic, I thought I'd ask: how's silver bear ammo, it's relatively cheap, but is it laquer nasty like wolf?

Punishing recoil?
Oh, maybe another stupid question......where do you all get these "zee grips", I've searched and come up with little. Are they still made, or was this a short run done by a board member?
