Carry questions- or Resurrecting a dead horse to beat

In the spirit of friendly holiday conversation, I wanted to talk to folks about their philosophies on carrying their P64. I have heard a lot of different philosophies and a lot of different ideas on this. What I want to know about the most is carrying with a round in the chamber and the safety on. I...

Re: More crimping Questions

Thanks!

Loaded 50+ rounds and your help is very appreciated.

I did a mix of 3.2, 3.6, and 4.0 grains of w231 with my berrys and Red Army brass. They all worked great. The 4.0 was a bit hotter than my factory Geco.

More crimping Questions

I'm having trouble figuring out the best light taper crimp for my 9x18 loads. I'm just starting, have a single Stage press, andvam using Lee's 3 die set for 9x18. I feel like my crimping ends up being nothing or too much. Any advice in light taper crimps with berrys 95 grain plated, or hornady 95 gr...

Re: Crimping with Lee 3 die set

I have a few hundred once fired brass. What's the best way to get them to the same size? What size do I pick? I'm about to pick up the Lee makarov case length gage as I already have the cutter, but if you have any advice I'd find it most helpful. Thanks Nick...for answering all my inane questions. :)

Crimping with Lee 3 die set

Hello! I'm just starting to reload and bought the lee 3 die set with the set/crimp being one die. Have folks had good results seating and crimping? Should I set it to seat only then get a crimp die? What should I do in the mean time? Also, anyone have any reloading stuff gathering dust they could gi...

Re: 9x18 ultra brass able to be reloaded to Mak?

That's super helpful. Thanks. I have 50 unfired ultra that someone saved for me from an estate sale. He confused ultra for mak.

If I can remove the bullet and somehow use the primed case, that'd be great.

9x18 ultra brass able to be reloaded to Mak?

Anyone have advice on turning 9x18 ultra brass into 9x18 makarov?

I bought a ton of 9x18 ammo and components, then discovered a few 9x18 ultra brass and ammo.

Best,

C.

Re: Another reloading noob

I have had good luck using Berry's 95 grain FMJs and the Lee three die set. You set the seating die to crimp and seat in one operation, if desired. I use a light taper crimp. My handloads feed perfectly in my P-64s, cycle the guns properly and are consistently more accurate than my shooting abiliti...

Another reloading noob

Just starting to reload 9x18 and .223 and 8mm. I'm skimming the old posts. What's folks thoughts about what primers, powder and bullets to use? I ordered some speer and Berrys FMJ bullets. But I think I want to cast my own eventually. Anyone try the cast ones you can buy in bulk? And what about crim...

Re: V.07 vs V.05 Polish Iron Grips

There have not been very many updates on the Polish Iron grips around here in general. The last discussion was early this month, and before that October of last year. http://www.p64resource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6074&start=45 They have been selling, and normally the absence of feedb...

Re: Wolff 18 lb Hammer Spring dangerous

I kept the stock hammer spring because the SA with it is perfect, around 3 pounds and crisp. The DA is 24 but I don't care much. I did put in a 22# recoil spring and a new firing pin spring, both function very well, but can't feel difference.
