Dry firing a P64
You might consider what I did - put a cigarette filter back of the safety to cushion the hammer fall and dry fire until your finger wears out. Crude, but effective? Limiting the hammer is the best way. Rather than use a cig butt, if you like, I cut a foam ear plug into thirds and tuck it into the h...

I started predicting the pricing increase a while back. Supply has dried up.

IWB Holster Options for 64?
Yeah, right. That's exactly what I'm talking about. I've seen them before, so I know I'm not crazy. But darned if I can't find any.
They cure the biggest problem with IWB, which is too much width. I always prefer leather, but it's usually too thick.

IWB Holster Options for 64?
To all you experts, I'm looking for a minimal IWB holster for my 64. Ideally, I would be drawing it from my back, so it might have to be left handed. However, I'm looking for one that's so minimal it could serve as a right handed or left handed. That way I could draw from my back or strong side with...

P-64 Pricing
You can find an FFL that will let you ship it in a Bulk Rate box to them yourself for $6-$7, and on my end my FFL charges me $10 to pick it up. ;) BTW, TTH, will a P-64 fit in a M11 made for a Mak? ;D Unreal. Where I live the transfer fees are all $40-50, which makes the purchase of a $150 weapon i...

P-64 Pricing
Update: The P-64 for $275 that prompted me to start this thread sold and has been replaced by one for $289. And after reading all your posts on this topic, I'd have to say the writing is on the wall gents. dirtyharry P.S.- In light of all this, I think we should seriously consider setting up a deal ...

P-64 Pricing
papabear, I agree. But I think patience might get you in trouble here. I can't find anyone selling P-64s that aren't dealing in "re-circulated" P-64s (if that makes sense). AIM, SOG, etc aren't selling them anymore. I think the P-64s straight from the crate are gone. And, in my mind, they ...

P-64 Pricing
I dropped by a dealer in the burbs today and they were selling a P-64 for $275.
I can't help but wonder if this was a quirk or the real direction we are going.
Cheers.

The Great Holster Wizard...maybe?
I found something interesting on CheaperThanDirt.com. It appears to be a holster option generator. Just scroll down and click on your handgun and it generates all the options they carry for it. The 64 is just about the same size and shape as the PPK. So, I used that as a proxy. Tons of options. I wo...

Haha! I hadn't thought about it in quite such real terms but you're exactly right, nbender. A "very good" with a disregarded bore...yeah um, no thanks. I must confess though, I have a real habit of purchasing junk...I just like to know when I'm doing it! Anyway, I didn't have time to conta...

The NRA antique standard is what EVERY online seller whether an auction or a formal sales website is using as a standard. Sorry, that's no defense here. These are not even close to antique status. These are weapons from the 1970s. 1898 is the date for antique firearms. Saands, Great to know. I had ...

Stan,
That's interesting. I presume I would lose the transfer fee, both to and from. I'm not sure but I think I can't ship the weapon myself. Anyone know for certain?
Cheers,
JB

Don, You bet. But I really don't think they'll be commenting. I forgot to mention above that I sent this email on December 6th. And even when I sent the email I didn't really expect a reply. I just wanted to give them a chance to hear me out before I complained publicly. Even though I don't excuse w...

First, I’d like to apologize for deviating from the P-64 for a moment. I reassure myself that you guys won’t mind because, like me, most of you enjoy plinking with these little surplus numbers and I just didn't know where else to comment about this. I recently purchased a Zastava and a P-64 from Sou...

Now that is a sweet little laser. Cheaper Than Dirt has them for around $130.
