Re: Custom chrome P64 - My main carry piece
Thanks for the compliments! I've finally gotten to take it to the range, and it shoots even better than it looks. Initially it was prone to a few light strikes and a last-round-mag-drop (They were working hard to smooth out the action, and I believe they lightened up the hammer spring a bit too much...

Re: What is the date on your P-64 ?
Hi, Sorry to revive a bit of an old thread, and if this has been discussed elsewhere! I just acquired my first 1969 P64 (my other two are 1970 and 1972), and I noticed that mine also has the reddish extractor, slide stop lever, and trigger bar. I was just wondering if anyone knows the significance o...

Re: Custom chrome P64 - My main carry piece
I bet that Astra would look really good in brushed chrome! I never used to be a fan of bling on my guns, but I gotta admit, I kinda dig this P64 now that I have had it back for a few days. It is My Precious.

Re: Custom chrome P64 - My main carry piece
Yep, APW did the finish too. According to their website, they do hard chrome, nickel, blue, and cerakote. The eagle was laser etched based on an image I sent them. Overall they were really nice people to work with!

Re: Custom chrome P64 - My main carry piece
Thanks guys! I couldn't be happier with it, and the folks at APW were awesome to work with. They communicated with me by phone and email every step of the way, and went above and beyond to make it function better than I thought a P64 possibly could. The action on this thing is amazing.

Custom chrome P64 - My main carry piece
I just got my 1970 P 64 back from having it hard chromed, and while it was out I decided to dress the old boy up a bit. This is my main carry piece, and it now has a Polish Eagle, a set of Marschal zebrawood grips with red shellac, and a bit of an action job from APW Cogan Custom. I know that the Po...

Re: Slide stuck locked back (possible easy fix?)
Hi again, Thank you everyone, for your replies. Indeed, I did flatten down the Wolff spring a bit beforehand. I'm also careful about which end goes which way, as I know that's caused issues for some people as well. As far as springs go, both of my P 64s are running 18lb hammer springs and seem to do...

Slide stuck locked back (possible easy fix?)
Hi everyone! I am brand new to this forum. I know that this issue has been covered in some old threads, but I didn't see any mention of the recoil spring in prior discussions about it, and I thought this might be worth discussing here. I recently acquired a very nice 1972 P64 (looks like it's barely...
