https://s20.postimg.org/g1whefwvh/image.jpg I posted here in Feb, after I had purchased my P83. I sent the slide to Ameriguns, to have a tritium front sight installed, there was a mixup, and the work took twice as long. Ameriguns made the dovetail cut, and made the lowest front night sight possible...
Here is an excellent analysis of the P83 done by a Gunboards member. http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?401013-Polish-P83-More-Than-Meets-The-Eye I have read that posting previously, and the author's perspective on the manufacture of the P83 is very enlightening. After reading it, it's quit...
Nice one Sunset. My 1987 is still on the assembly line getting new innards. Thank you. I would love to buy one of the P83s offered by Sportsman Guide as a second P83, but have bought a Walther PPS M1 this month, in addition waiting for another pistol to come back from a refinish, and have sent the ...
Little package arrived from Minnesota yesterday from Sportsmans Guide. Second 1987, but no green trigger like my other one. Really nice shape though, couldn't resist with the $199.99 delivered price, didn't expect 2 mags either. Just one little rub mark from trigger bar. http://i210.photobucket.com...
I detailed stripped my P83 today, am sending the slide out for sights to be installed. I had a surprise however, as in removing that "green" trigger, found out it was made from aluminum alloy! Thats the reasoning for the green tint, the black anodizing has worn or it was anodized improperl...
Well, after a few days searching, I found a company that will upgrade the sights on my P83. I will be sending the slide to Ameriguns for them to cut a front dovetail, install a tritium front sight and matching rear sight. The tiny stock front sight is impossible to see. After that work, will probabl...
I do not like blued guns, just have had too many bad experiences with rusting while carrying, even after taking extra care to keep them oiled. I wish I could keep this one blued, but know If I carry it in the summer, what's going to happen. i want to carry this pistol, so 2 things needed, front sigh...
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff97/Sunset_Va/IMAG0030_zpslga8vdnd.jpg The grips from Grips4U transformed the P83 so much. The factory grips were too large at the heel for my small hands, these wooden grips are smaller and fit my hand perfectly. Also they really refine the looks of the Wanad! A ...
Thanks for the welcome. I did get the safety working properly, without taking it apart. Mostly by using penetrating oils. I like this pistol, am going to try to have a larger front sight installed, perhaps a tritium sight, have a dovetail cut made. Then I think I will send the lslide and all small p...
Marschal has a prototype set of P83 walnut grips on his website. I also ordered the wood Grips4U grips, because I liked the checkering pattern better than Marschals, but both are nice grips.
Mine should arrive next week, not much difference in the price.
Hello everyone, my first posting here, I have been reading this forum, but never joined. I purchased a 1987 P83 at Gander Mountain yesterday with an extra magazine. Mine also has a green trigger. But the double action trigger pull is very smooth and lighter than usual on these pistols. Mine also has...
