Re: New P-64 and range report

I'll stay out of the "one in the chamber" debate but add that I changed both recoil and hammer springs. The hammer spring I left stock and the recoil spring in increased the # one step above stock. I contemplated changing the hammer spring # to lessen the force needed on the mag release du...

Re: Affect of lighter hammer spring on mag release?

That's what I needed to know. Thank you very much.
Looks like I'll start swapping the springs to see which one works best for me.

Affect of lighter hammer spring on mag release?

I have Russ's extended mag release but am still having issues releasing the mag. 80% of the problem is the fact I cut off a bit of my thumb (damn table saw) and I dont have the strength or surface area after the joint to properly engage the release anymore. 20% is how hard it is to actuate the relea...

Grips look interesting too.

Saw on their website they made a mag finger grip for one of the Walther clones. Something like that would sell well on the Walther forum.

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

For me I found wedging a small screwdriver between the frame and grip on both sides of the mag well releases the grip from the frame cut out and it comes off pretty easy.

Re: trigger bar binding with polish iron grips

I can't find and edit my response I made a few minutes ago but I did find this in the installation instructions: "The grip is flexible. And under normal use. And even a very hard grip. The grip will not disturb the trigger bar. However you can disturb the trigger bar by pressing directly on tha...

Re: trigger bar binding with polish iron grips

Yup, contact him. He was very helpful fguring out why my grip screw wasn't long enough (which it turned out it was a short one).
IIRC, doesn't the installation instructions say if the grip screw is tightened too much it will cause the trigger bar to bind?

Re: P64 Newb, assumptions and input requested from the collective p-64 brain.

Does it look like it was soaked in cosmoline during storage or is it pretty clean? If pretty clean (like mine was) then what you're doing is pretty good with the addition of oiling the wear parts. You don't need to strip it down to do this, just apply oil to any friction areas. If covered in cosmoli...

Re: P64 shooting tips

At the least try a Hogue wrap around grip. It helps with your grip but won't help the web of your hand.
I got the PI grip for mine and it made a world of difference.

Yeah he makes it look easy but I have a hard time removing them to. A lot of wiggling back and forth while pulling helps.

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

First thing to do is watch his grip installation video again and make sure the grip is properly seated in the frame cut outs. Then see if the screw is long enough. If not then I'd definitely contact him with your concerns. I've been working thru the same issue with Russ on my grips. He thinks he sen...

Re: Recoil pain. Am I holding it wrong?

You'll like them. I put 100 rnds thru mine a couple of days ago and had no issues (pain, bruising, blood, etc) at all.
Only problem I had was finding the ejected cases for reloading. They do fly...
