Re: New guy here with questions....
Thank you for clearing that up for me. Now I get it, wasnt sure the slide could move far enough back against the recoil spring for the it to clear the frame rails.

Re: New guy here with questions....
Maby I dont understand what the OP is saying but how is it possible for a P64 slide to fly off the front of the gun? The slide releases to the rear, after releasing the trigger guard?

Re: P64 information request - Slide Mass?
I dont have a scale that will weigh the P64 slide, it too heavy for any of my reloading scales.

Re: P64 Safety Detent
Just wanted to update this post. I have attached a picture (l to r) of my original P64 safety detent, an old style unmodified PPK safety detent, and one of the new style PPK safety detent I modified for P64 use. Just above the detente are a PPK extractor detent spring, and below it a P64 detent spri...

Re: Front sight replacement
I like your sight mod. I think the front sight on the P64 is it's only negative feature, they need to be a little more visible. Have you been to the range yet, I am curious about POI, and how well it points? I have a spare slide that might make a good candidate for a new front sight.

P64 Safety Detent
So I was playing around in my garage today and decided to try and fit a Walther new style safety detent to my P64. The diameter is a perfect match, but the OAL and configuration was wrong. So, I chucked up the walther part in my drill press, and covered he portion I didnt want to cut with black shar...

Re: Carry questions- or Resurrecting a dead horse to beat
IWB carry in a stiff holster, round chambered, safety on. I feel better this way, not worried I might shoot my junk off while seated.

Re: Spring Upgrade First Range Day
Ok, second range day for my P64 and I have to say this is a great pistol. Shot Brown Bear, and some XTP reloads. I used some of the original mags I got with the pistol and the two I bought from Keep Shooting. Had a fun time without any problems. My reloads were a litte hot, 3.6 gr of Titegroup, 95 g...

Re: All about the P64 Magazine
I recently bought two P64 mags from keep Shooting and they look to be well made. They came wrapped in clear plastic with "Made in Ru" printed on them. It looked like the last word was rubbed off. Are these mags made in Russia?

Re: Spring Upgrade First Range Day
No. I left the 22 lb spring on because I felt it might protect the pistol a little better than the 20lb.

Spring Upgrade First Range Day
So I got my P64 from SOG last week and got a complete set of Wolf Springs. Put in the 18 lb hammer and 20 lb recoil springs. Shot 36 rounds of swiss fmj, 12 rounds of Hornady CD, and 12 rounds of reloads (94 fmj, 3.4 titegroup). Some where during the test I put in the 22lb recoil spring. Everything ...
